NFL Week 6 Baltimore Ravens vs New York Giants prediction

Both teams are coming off of Week 5 wins as the Ravens improved to 3-2 and the Giants to 4-1. It’s been a shockingly good season for the Giants who earned their 4th win of the season in London last Sunday as they outscored the Packers 27-2 in the second half in a comeback victory. Lamar Jackson will look to continue his MVP campaign and the Giants look to improve to 5-1, so let’s get into our bets for the game.

Baltimore Ravens vs New York Giants expert picks

We’ve got 2 standout NFL picks for this week’s clash between the Ravens and Giants.

Ravens vs Giants point spread pick: Giants +5.5 (-110)

The New York Giants are 4-1, but oddsmakers clearly aren’t too impressed. They’ve installed the G-Men as significant home underdogs against the Baltimore Ravens. I don’t think they’re nearly as good as a 4-1 record might suggest, but they’re getting disrespected by too many. And the Ravens shouldn’t be this large of a road favorite against just about anybody. I’m not giving Baltimore too much credit for sneaking past a struggling Bengals team by 2 points at home last week. They rely too much on Lamar Jackson to bail them out with hero-ball, and have very little going on offense beside him.

Daniel Jones should be closer to 100% as he further recovers from an ankle injury, and even at less than full strength he was able to help lead a big upset over the Packers in London last week. Giants head coach Brian Daboll has already turned around the culture in his first season at the helm, and the team has a competent ground game for the first time in a long time. The Ravens’ defense is middling, and in their only recent road game they gave up 26 points to the Patriots. New York has all the momentum in the world, and they aren’t likely to be embarrassed at home. Last week they were able to hold Aaron Rodgers to 5.7 yards per attempt, so the defense should at least be able to do enough to keep this one close.

Ravens vs Giants Over/Under totals pick: Under 45 (-110)

The under makes a lot of sense in this game. These coaching staffs know each other very well, as current Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale was Baltimore’s DC for many years. Martindale used to go up against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens’ offense in practice every day, and each side knows what the other wants to do. The Giants’ success this season has been mostly due to their defense, as they still haven’t allowed more than 23 points in a game. Meanwhile Baltimore held Joe Burrow and the Bengals to only 17 points last week.

The week before that, they held Josh Allen to 19/36 for less than 6 yards an attempt. Rashod Bateman hasn’t practiced yet this week, and it looks like he’s going to miss his second straight game. That’s a massive blow for the passing game that severely limits the ceiling of the offense as a whole. Jackson’s splits this season with Bateman on and off the field are striking.
