Happy New Year! 2023 is in the books and what better way to start 2024 than with a fresh 8-game NBA slate. After a long and thorough analysis, I’ve prepared a 3-leg NBA Mega Parlay which is available below. I’ve settled for one team on the Money Line and two teams to cover the spread.

For in-depth predictions on the spread and total for all upcoming games in 2024, simply head over to our NBA predictions page.

Now let’s dive into my bet!

DET Pistons ML (+260)

DAL Mavericks -3 (-110)

MIA Heat +7.5 (-112)

Parlay odds: +1200

DET Pistons ML vs HOU Rockets (+260)

Well, the Detroit Pistons have finally done it. The 28-game losing streak is a thing of the past and now they can focus on not becoming the team with the worst win/loss record in NBA history. They’ll need some wins to achieve that, wouldn’t it be funny if they won back-to-back games after all those losses? They’re in Houston to take on the struggling Rockets tonight.

The home team has lost 3 straight games against Indiana, Phoenix and Philadelphia. Although the Pistons aren’t in the same sentence as those 3 teams, they’ve been able to stay in games lately, almost beating the likes of Boston on the road before the win over Toronto. They’ve done well against the spread in games played in Houston covering in their last 5 visits. In the last 12 meetings, the Pistons are also 9-3 ATS overall, so why not try our luck once more and back them at a tasty +260 odds?

DAL Mavericks -3 vs UTA Jazz (-110)

We’re getting closer and closer to the return of Kyrie Irving into the Mavs line-up. It’s been 3 weeks since he last played, but his status has been upgraded to questionable for this game, so there is a chance he suits up. Even without him though, I still like Dallas. Luka Doncic is averaging 39 points and 10.3 assists per game in his last 10 outings, while also shooting over 50% from the field.

He has already had one monster game against the Jazz, back in early December when Dallas won 147-97. Tonight’s game should be a bit closer as the Jazz are playing at home, but it’s been all Dallas in the last 10 meetings with 8 wins and just 2 losses. They’ve also covered the spread in 12 of the last 16 meetings overall and are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 away from home. The Mavericks are one of the “safer” picks from tonight’s slate, so let’s back them to win this one by at least 4 points.

MIA Heat +7.5 vs LA Clippers (-112)

And to conclude our Parlay, I have the Miami Heat covering as 7.5-point underdogs on the road in LA against the Clippers. Jimmy Butler got injured in their last game vs Utah, but that shouldn’t be that big of a deal, the Heat are 5-3 SU in 8 games without Jimmy, averaging 112.3 points per game. On paper this might not look as a good bounce back spot for Miami, but they’ve actually faired well vs Pacific Division opponents winning 9 of their last 10 games.

This Miami team does not lose consecutive games that often, it has happened only two times so far this season, so I’m expecting them to put in their best effort here. The Clippers are just 2-2 SU over their last 4 games, but the wins came against Memphis and Charlotte. We still don’t know when Kawhi Leonard is coming back, they’ve covered the spread just two times in their last 6 games vs Eastern Conference opponents. With Miami winning the last 3 meetings, including the last one at Crypto.com Arena by 10 points, I’m going with them to cover the spread here.
