NFL Week 1 best bet to make with Bet365: Cardinals +7 over Commanders (-110)

The Cardinals clash with the Commanders in this opening matchup at FedExField, and both teams are currently facing some challenges in the upcoming season. While the outlook appears gloomier for the Cardinals, there might be some value in backing them against the spread as they enter the game as 7-point underdogs on the road. The Cardinals aren’t favored to win a single game this season, but that reaction might be a little over the top. Their starting quarterback for this game, Josh Dobbs, could be serviceable in this game after a couple of decent starts for the Titans last year. Dobbs will have some solid weapons at his disposal, including tight end Zach Ertz and capable receivers like Marquise Brown and Rondale Moore. Running back James Conner, who has scored 22 touchdowns over the past two seasons, should also be a threat out of the backfield.

However, the primary reason for considering this bet lies with the Commanders and the fact it’s hard to justify them being 7-point favorites against any team. Washington won just one of its last five games in the 2022 season, which happened to be a meaningless Week 18 victory against the Cowboys. There’s still some uncertainty too around how capable Sam Howell is of being a starting quarterback. Despite possessing a strong tandem of running backs in Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson, the Commanders have struggled to put points on the board consistently. This is evident in the low game total of just 38 points. Given these circumstances, it’s reasonable to anticipate a low-scoring matchup, which enhances the value of taking Arizona with the 7-point cushion.
