This week in the NHL starts with 4 games on Monday night. Of the 8 teams suited up, there are 6 teams currently in a playoff spot with the other 2 teams being potential competitors looking to make a push. This is by no means a large slate in stature, but it consists of good teams and several star players. The first pucks drop at 7:00 pm ET and with the last puck dropping at 9:30 pm ET, the action will go all night. I have created a 3-game NHL mega parlay for Monday’s action at +839 odds, which you can read below. You can also check out our NHL predictions for picks on today’s games.

Maple Leafs vs Islanders over 6 (-115)

Red Wings vs Stars over 6 (-130)

Avalanche ML & Over 6.5 (+184)

NHL parlay odds: +839

Toronto Maple Leafs vs New York Islanders Over 6 (-115)

Both the Maple Leafs and Islanders have won 4 of their last 5 games and are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games. These strong runs are due to several factors, but a primary factor is offensive performance. They are scoring at a strong clip which is leading to high totals.

The Maple Leafs have scored 4 goals in 3 of their last 4 games. They also rank 9th in the NHL in goals scored per game. Given their star-studded talent, Toronto can score in bunches with the best of them. The Islanders have scored 4 goals per game over their last 10, including 27 goals in their last 6. This one has offense written all over it.

Detroit Red Wings vs Dallas Stars Over 6 (-130)

The over has hit in 6 of the Red Wings’ last 7 on the road and in 5 of the Stars’ last 6 games overall. The total has also gone over in 6 of Dallas’ last 7 games at home, as well as in 5 of the last 7 played head-to-head.

The Red Wings have either scored or allowed 5+ goals in their last 5 games. Game totals averaged 8.00 during that span. Results are similar for the Stars lately, as they have scored or allowed 5+ goals in 3 straight and have averaged a game total of 7.00 over their last 10 games. All signs point toward another high total.

Colorado Avalanche ML over Calgary Flames & Over 6.5 (+184)

Both teams have been on a bit of a slide lately. But between a couple of struggling teams, the Avalanche are the far more reliable play over the Flames. Colorado won the first head-to-head matchup 3-1 and ranks in the top 12 in the NHL in both goals scored and allowed. Things have not been very pretty for Calgary this year and they present a get-right spot for Colorado.

In addition, adding a third over of the night brings solid value to this mega parlay. Part of what has led to tough weeks for the Flames and Avalanche is a lack of goal prevention. This has the makings of a somewhat sloppy game which can bode well for higher totals.
