I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. NHL Parlay Picks (4/13)

Devils 3-way ML (+165)

Lightning 3-way ML (+110)

Bruins 3-way ML (+110)

Parlay odds +1068

New Jersey Devils 3-way ML (+165) over Philadelphia Flyers

This is a Metropolitan Division clash between 2 teams that not long away were not this close to one another in the standings. While the New Jersey Devils have been struggling much of the season, the Philadelphia Flyers seemed like all but a lock to make the postseason. However, they have been absolutely collapsing recently — going 2-6-2 in their last 10 games.

Although they got back on track with a win earlier this week, they are still just not playing good hockey at the most important time of the season. They were able to hold things together despite losing goaltender Carter Hart, among others, but it’s starting to catch up to them. It also doesn’t help that they haven’t performed well against New Jersey this season. Philly has lost 2 of their 3 meetings, with the most recent coming by 3 goals. I’m not going with the puck line this time around, but even just the 3-way market gets us great plus-money odds.

Tampa Bay Lightning 3-way ML (+110) over Washington Capitals

Speaking of the Eastern Conference playoff race, the Washington Capitals are also holding out hope that they can earn one of the wild-card spots. However, they too have been struggling during this very important stretch of the season. Alex Ovechkin and company have lost 7 of their last 8 games and now face a playoff-caliber opponent in the Tampa Bay Lightning. I actually faded them recently against the Ottawa Senators and the Sens came through as +170 underdogs.

However, I’m back to trusting Nikita Kucherov to continue his remarkable season. He looks set to win the 2024 Art Ross Trophy by leading the NHL in points, but he would like a bit more cushion ahead of Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche. Doing it against a Caps team that has long been a pest in the Eastern Conference would only make it that much sweeter. Tampa Bay has won 3 of the last 4 meetings with Washington.

Boston Bruins 3-way ML (+110) over Pittsburgh Penguins

I’m also focused on true Eastern Conference rivalry — the 2 teams in black and yellow. That would be David Pastrnak and the Boston Bruins taking on Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Crosby has been a storyline recently, as he cracked the top 10 in terms of all-time points — but the fact remains that as a team the Pens are not up to the caliber of the Bruins.

They have actually kept themselves in the playoff hunt despite being sellers at the trade deadline, but Boston has been firmly in the postseason for quite some time now. That scenario for both teams has been the case each of the past 2 seasons, which is why we have seen the Bruins win 4 of their last 5 matchups. The most recent was a rather dominant 5-1 victory, so getting them at plus money just to win in regulation represents great value.
