St. Louis Blues vs Washington Capitals Over 5.5 (-115)

Both the Blues and Capitals have looked good since returning from the 4 Nations break. For both teams, recent success has come from offensive production. In their 3 games this week, the Blues have scored 13 goals. Impressively, the Capitals have outpaced that total by 3 goals with a total of 16 scored in their last 3 matchups. Unsurprisingly, the Over is 4-2 in those combined 6 games.

The recent high game totals make it 3 Overs in the Blues’ last 4 games and 7 Overs in the Caps’ last 8 games. The Over has also hit in 4 of Washington’s last 5 games at home. The production is nothing new for the Capitals, as they boast the highest goals-per-game rate in the NHL. The Blues are a bit more volatile, but lately, that volatility has been favorable to high game totals. The pure matchup here gives the Over plenty of appeal to start our NHL parlay picks.

Winnipeg Jets -1.5 over Nashville Predators (+205)

The Jets and Predators have trended in very different directions all season. Recent performances have not changed those trends. The Jets come into this game red hot. They entered the 4 Nations break on an 8-game winning streak, and have won the first 3 games back to take their winning run to 11. Meanwhile, the Predators have lost their last 2 games by a combined score of 9-1. That makes it 8 defeats for Nashville in their last 10 games.

In the Predators’ last 8 losses, they were outscored a combined 30-11. That is an average final score of 3.75-1.38 and an average loss by 2.37 goals. Lately, when the Preds lose, they lose big. That has not deviated much from season-long trends. Winnipeg has won their last 6 road games and is 8-3 on the puck line in their last 11, including 5-1 on the road. This one looks set to be all Jets.

Vegas Golden Knights ML over Chicago Blackhawks & Under 6.5 (+120)

This is about as lopsided of a matchup as it gets. One of the best teams in the NHL against arguably the worst team in the NHL. The Blackhawks have lost 4 straight games by an average of 2.25 goals as part of 7 losses in their last 8 games. They have dropped their last 5 games on the road and against Vegas specifically, Chicago has dropped 13 out of the last 20. The Golden Knights should not have much trouble taking care of the Blackhawks.

The Under adds good value to both this game and our NHL parlay as a whole. Chicago has scored 4 goals in their last 3 games. That is even lower than their season average of 2.62 goals per game, which is the 4th-worst in the NHL. The Blackhawks should have a hard time bucking the low-offense trend against a smothering Golden Knights team. The Under has hit in 5 of Vegas’ last 7 games and in 14 of their last 18 at home. They should control this one and drive the under.
