Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. After another 2-0 night on our NHL player props, we’re now on a solid 9-2 run. The week starts up with just 4 games, and we’ve still found 2 great spots. Both skaters are on home ice so their prices aren’t as friendly as they otherwise would be, but we’ll break down why they’re worth it. Our first play features the first game of the day and a great Eastern Conference clash, so let’s get into it. Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

You can bet these NHL player props with FanDuel Sportsbook, which has the best odds available and a great new customer offer where you can bet $5 and immediately get $150 in bonus bets! Click here to take advantage of this can’t-miss offer.

Artemi Panarin over 0.5 assists (-130)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Artemi Panarin may be nicknamed ‘The Bread Man,’ but we’ll be backing him to dish out an apple tonight. He and the rest of the New York Rangers are working their way up the Metro Division, and have been off since Thursday. Although they’re coming off a loss, that was to the NHL-best Boston Bruins. Now they’ll be facing a Florida Panthers team that Panarin has feasted against. These teams faced off on the first day of 2023, and several skaters popped off. Panarin, Adam Fox and Mike Zibanejad all recorded multiple points.

Firstly, having elite skaters surrounding The Bread Man only increases opportunities to assist a goal. For example, Zibanejad had 2 in the prior meeting against Florida. We’ve chosen Panarin because of his consistency against Florida. He continues to pounce on the Panthers and has had multiple points against them in each of his last 6 games facing them, and 7 of the last 8. That includes a 4-point performance with a goal and 3 assists. Whether you want to target his multi-point prop or play it safer with the assist, expect a big night from Panarin.

Joe Pavelski over 0.5 assists (-115)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

We’re targeting another veteran for the same prop as our 2nd play. Pavelski has been playing as if he isn’t aging. The Dallas Star is leading the entire NHL with a +33 plus/minus. In other words, a lot more good things happen than bad things when he’s on the ice. That’s not too surprising given the fact that 23-year-old Jason Robertson is an emerging star. The Stars are now leading the entire Western Conference and will be on home ice tonight. That’s been excellent for them, as they’re the 2nd-highest scoring team when in their own barn.

Such an impressive rank should hold true against the Buffalo Sabres, who are allowing the 7th-most goals per game this season. The Sabres are also a high-scoring team themselves, so the Stars may actually need to keep the pressure on. Regardless, Pavelski has enjoyed his time against Buffalo. They don’t meet often, but he had at least an assist in both games against the Sabres last season and 3 overall. With the way Robertson has been sniping lately, look for Pavelski to link up with him to find the back of the net.
