Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. After an exciting 10-game NBA slate last night, the action looks set to continue today with another eight games for us to enjoy. The pick of the bunch looks to be the Lakers’ trip to Boston and the rekindling of their age-old rivalry. Be sure to check out all our picks on the side and total for each of those matchups.

In the meantime, here is a selection of four of the best player prop bets for tonight’s games.

Giannis Antetokounmpo over 29.5 points (+106)

The reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is a nightmare matchup for most NBA teams and the Hornets are no exception. Their big men really lack the speed to stay in front of him on the perimeter whilst their forwards are too small to cause him issues in the post. When these two teams last met in March last season, Antetokounmpo had 41 points on 60 percent shooting from the field, together with 20 rebounds. A monster performance. Giannis is also coming off a 38 point performance last night, making it the second time that he has surpassed 30 points in the last five games he has played. With the matchup presented to him today, he should be able to repeat that here.

Enes Kanter over 27.5 points + rebounds (-106)

Since the injury to Jusuf Nurkic, Enes Kanter has done a fantastic job of stepping up and filling the void left by the Bosnian big man. Whilst his game-high over that stretch remains a modest 13 points, he has been an absolute menace on the boards. That was clearly evident when he was able to grab 23 rebounds against the Thunder and their thin frontline.

The Chicago Bulls have recently lost their leading rebounder, Wendell Carter Jr., to injury. His replacement in the lineup is Daniel Gafford, who has failed to grab more than six boards in any of the games since that injury. Kanter should be able to dominate the paint in this one. He grabs close to four offensive rebounds per game and should get scoring opportunities from them here. I can foresee a very strong double-double from him here.

Jayson Tatum over 23.5 points (-118)

Jayson Tatum loves the big occasions, and it does not get much bigger than a matchup between the Lakers and the Celtics. From the get-go this season Tatum has been a scoring machine and is currently averaging over 26 points per game. Ever since recovering from COVID, he has been able to surpass this total in the two games he played. What will certainly help him here tonight is the fact that he is shooting over 42 percent from deep this season. The Lakers have given up several 20 plus scoring nights to opposing forwards who can knock it down from deep like Tobias Harris and Blake Griffin, and Tatum is a better player than those two guys. With the motivation of this historic rivalry, he should have a big game here tonight.

LaMarcus Aldridge over 24.5 points (+1000)

LaMarcus Aldridge has managed to score 25 or more points on just a couple of occasions so far this season but he will certainly have the chance to do it once again here tonight. The Memphis Grizzlies are missing two of their key big men, one of which is Jonas Valanciunas. These two teams met on the opening night of the season where Aldridge was able to drop 20 on Valanciunas on the road. Now playing at home and matchup up against the less experienced Xavier Tillman, Aldridge should be able to turn back the clock and put in a dominant performance. The Spurs played last night but he only managed 22 minutes as it was not a favorable matchup for him against Nikola Jokic. Here tonight, the stage is set for him to shine.
