We have a limited MLB slate today, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find some value. I have one player prop in mind, and I will share that here. Before I do so, be sure to check out our full game previews and picks for all of the action today. You can also follow me on Twitter for any added plays.

Josiah Gray over 4.5 strikeouts (-130)

Nationals starter Josiah Gray should be pitching with some confidence. He picked up his first MLB win in his last start, and he will face a Rockies team that has been very strikeout-prone as of late. Only 3 teams have struck out more than the Rockies over the last 7 days. Gray is still adjusting to life in the big leagues, but he has shown that he can rack up the strikeouts. He has reached 5+ strikeouts in 7 of his 12 starts this season, including in both matchups against Colorado. He possesses great swing-and-miss stuff, ranking in the 84th percentile among all MLB pitchers in terms of chase rate. In addition, he ranks in the 81st percentile in terms of whiff rate.

The Nationals are also giving him more longevity as we near the end of the season. Gray has thrown 100 pitches in 2 of his last 3 starts. The prospect acquired from LA in the Max Scherzer/Trea Turner trade is going to be a part of their future, or so they hope. They should be aiming for the right-hander to throw near 100 pitches again in this one, and if that is the plan, I like his chances at reaching this number.
