Cale Makar over 2.5 shots (-139)

The Norris trophy favorite has been playing some incredible hockey as of late. He’s been creating offensive chances for his teammates, but most importantly, his offensive contributions have led to the Avs winning. Colorado has gone on a run in their last ten game going 9-0-1. During that span, Makar has 11 points and has averaged 3.4 shots on goal. At -139, over 2.5 shots still provide bettors with fantastic value. In his last 10 games he has only had under 2.5 shots on goal three times. He’s been playing great offensively, and tonight against the Habs he has plenty of reasons to keep shooting the puck.

Cayden Primeau is the confirmed starter for Montreal. He is posting a 1-3-0 record with a 4.10 GAA and .883 SVP. He has been one of the worst backup goaltenders of the year. A likely game-plan for Colorado tonight is to get puck’s on the net, and with Makar playing quarterback for an average of 24:38 a night, he should provide a lot of chances. Take him to go over 2.5 shots tonight.

Alex Ovechkin over 0.5 goals (-125)

Ovechkin is doing the impossible right now. At age 36, he is currently leading the league in points and in goalscoring. He is having the best start to his career for both categories. He’s the clear cut favorite to win this season’s MVP and his chances of scoring another goal tonight are very high. He’s scored three goals in his last four games. In his last meeting against Ottawa earlier this year, he recorded two goals. Ovechkin feeds on weaker opponents and tonight should be no different. He’s averaging 4:51 minutes on the powerplay right now, and the Senators give up more than 10 penalty minutes per game. If the Sens take a lot of penalties tonight, it could be an early night to cash this player prop.

Matt Murray has been confirmed as the starter for the Senators. He is averaging a 3.41 GAA and .892 SVP. He has had an awful year as the Senators expected number one guy, he was even sent down to the AHL earlier in the year. With Ovechkin having more than three shots in his last 16 straight games, it’s hard to imagine he doesn’t get some great looks tonight against Ottawa. Take him to score at least one goal.
