Best player props for Tuesday's NBA slate: Can Zion maintain his hot streak?

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (1) dunks the ball against Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier (3) during the third quarter at Smoothie King Center.

Happy Tuesday everyone! We’ve got a six-game slate on tap in the NBA. This should be a great spot for prop bettors with all the games posted with a spread of seven points or less, and we could be in store for some fireworks. Before we dive into my favorite prop bets, make sure you check out all of our experts’ thoughts on the side and total for each of those games.

I’m off to a 4-2 start at Pickswise but I’ve got two more strong plays in my sights so we will try to make it 6-2. Below, I’ve broken down two of my favorite bets, and why I think they offer some nice value.

Before you bet any sides or totals, check out our experts’ analysis for all of the games on the docket tonight.

Jamal Murray over 20.5 points (-125)

The former Kentucky Wildcat is averaging 21.1 points per game with lights-out shooting splits of 48/41/86. When you turn the tape, Murray is one of the league’s premier difficult shot makers in addition to being an elite three-point shooter and a very deft finisher at the rim. Murray is shooting 84% on his field-goal attempts within 0-3 feet which, needless to say, is really, really good.

He is facing Orlando, the team which gives up the seventh-most points in addition to the most three-pointers to opposing point guards. Vucevic is playing the drop coverage in Pick and rolls, so ballhandlers have wide-open threes on every pick and roll possession. Over Orlando’s last three games, opponents score 42.3% of their points from behind the arc. Only the Pelicans are allowing a higher over that stretch.

Zion Williamson over 26.5 points (-116)

If we played Zion over on points every single game this season, we would hit with over 60% success rate, one of the best players to bet over on this season. Zion is coming into this game with a streak of 18 games in a row scoring 23 or more points.

The Lakers are a tough matchup, but their defense is not as good with Anthony Davis and Marc Gasol out because they provide excellent rim protection. Last game they started Kuzma and Markieff Morris at power forward and center. They are not good defensive players, which we saw with Ayton scoring 26 points, almost double his season average.

Zion loves to play against the Lakers, which is evident by his usage rate. His career usage rate is 29.7%, but it goes up to 33.7% in the three games against the Lakers, which is the most he has against any team.
