Auston Matthews (34) and Toronto Maple Leafs center Jason Spezza (19)

There are just 3 NHL games tonight, and we’re going to take a deeper dive into one of the matchups and choose a player prop we think will provide good value and will have a great chance of hitting. The games are starting at 7:00 pm ET with the final game happening at 10:00 pm ET.

Auston Matthews over 0.5 goals (-105)

Auston Matthews has a chance to tie an NHL record tonight. If he scores a goal, Matthews will become just the third NHL player in history with a goal streak on the road of 11 games. He’ll be tied with Steve Yzerman and Pavel Bure, 2 of the greatest to ever play the game. The Maple Leafs will be playing their 5th straight road game tonight. Matthews has recorded 5 goals in his last 4 games, scoring in each contest. We can assume he’s aware of the record he’s approaching, and he’s been on an absolute tear. He has 25 goals in 33 games this season.

Not only is he chasing history, but he’s also chasing Alex Ovechkin, who has now pulled ahead of Matthews by 2 in the goalscoring race (Ovechkin has played 7 more games). Matthews has established himself as one of, if not the best, goalscorer in the league, and the chance to reach an NHL record provides him with some extra motivation tonight. His teammates will be pulling for him to get it as well. Take Matthews to record a goal tonight.
