Tuesday’s mega parlay could not have worked out any better. LSU got the best of a wild final 30 seconds against Kentucky and both Illinois (vs Minnesota) and Kansas (vs Oklahoma State) won by double-digits. The result was a +1046 success.

Can we make it two in a row on Wednesday? That is certainly the plan, and we have plenty of games to work with as we try to accomplish that feat. A total of seven Top 25 teams are in action, including Iowa State and Texas Tech going head-to-head. Michigan State, Houston, Alabama, Tennessee, and Villanova are also taking the court.

Here we go!

Pittsburgh +12.5 (-110)

Miami (FL) -2 (-110)

North Carolina -7.5 alternate spread (+215)

Parlay odds: +1048

For this parlay we are going with two favorites against the spread – one on an alternate number – and one underdog plus the points. All three picks are coming from the ACC. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

Pittsburgh +12.5 over Louisville (-110)

The Panthers are obviously not very good this year, but they have played better of late. They have quietly covered six of their last seven games and are getting double-digit points against a Louisville team that struggles to score at times. From a matchup perspective, Pitt loves to drive the ball to the rim for layups or at least to get to the free-throw line. Per KenPom, Pitt ranks third nationally in free-throw rate.

On paper, Louisville’s pack-line defense is built to stop dribble penetration — but it has not been great in that area so far this year. The Cardinals also rank 243rd in defensive free-throw rate. On the other end of the floor, Pitt’s defense has been decent — at least relatively speaking. The Panthers have similar philosophies as Louisville in that they force opponents to make outside shots. Louisville has struggled to make threes this year, ranking just 259th in three-point percentage. Pitt can keep it within the number.

Miami (FL) -2 over Syracuse (-110)

The Orange are 7-6 overall and 1-1 in the ACC so far. They posted back-to-back good wins in December, beating Indiana and Florida State, but they also lost to Colgate at home. One of the primary reasons for their struggles is that two-guard Buddy Boeheim has not shot it well. He is a high-usage guy and volume shooter but is making only 32% of his 3-pointers.

Miami has taken advantage of its schedule to get off to a 3-0 start in the ACC. This one probably comes down to whoever makes some shots in the last couple of minutes and Boeheim has struggled to be the magic man he was when the Orange went on a run last March. Playing on the road, he is unlikely to find his stroke. ‘Canes cover.

North Carolina -7.5 alternate spread over Notre Dame (+215)

This will already be UNC’s third road ACC game of the season, so the environment in South Bend should not bother the Tar Heels. In their two conference games thus far they scored an average of 85 ppg on over 54% shooting while holding Georgia Tech and Boston College (who beat Notre Dame) to an average of 63.5 ppg on 38% shooting. They are the 16th-ranked offense in terms of efficiency — by both KenPom and Haslametrics — and are especially efficient from deep (40%). North Carolina -2.5 is our best college basketball bet of the day, so I have no reservations about teasing it up to -7.5 for the purposes of this mega parlay.
