Where is the Sugar Bowl played?

The Sugar Bowl will take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The stadium is home to NFL franchise the New Orleans Saints. When this game took place last year it was the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, but Caesars has since taken over the naming rights.

From 1934-74 the Sugar Bowl was played at Tulane Stadium. Only once since that time has the game not been played in the Superdome (at the end of the 2005 season because of Hurricane Katrina).

Who Plays in the Sugar Bowl in 2022?

The 2022 Sugar Bowl will be contested between the Baylor Bears and Ole Miss Rebels. Baylor is ranked No.6 in the College Football Playoff rankings, while Ole Miss is ranked No. 8.

Oddsmakers have this one as pretty close to even, so it should be a tight one. The Rebels are currently a narrow 1.5-point favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Baylor is coming off a very solid 11-2 season, but their College Football Playoff hopes were dashed by a disappointing loss to TCU with about a month to go. Ole Miss also comes in with a pair of losses at 10-2. Matt Corral will play his final game for Lane Kiffin here before heading to the NFL draft, while it’s still unclear if Baylor starting quarterback Gerry Bohanon will be healthy enough to be a full-go here.

Last year, the 2021 Sugar Bowl was won by the Ohio State Buckeyes, who defeated the Clemson Tigers 49-28. It was part of the College Football Playoff, with Ohio State advancing to face Alabama in the title game. It was also the final collegiate game for Trevor Lawrence.

The game took place on Jan. 1, 2021 and was attended by only 3,000 people due to COVID restrictions.

Who is Favorite to Win the Sugar Bowl 2022?

The current favorites to win the 2022 Sugar Bowl are the Ole Miss Rebels, who are -1.5 favorites to beat the Baylor Bears. That means these teams are considered pretty even. The line could change depending on the status of Bohanon.

Ole Miss wants to spread things out and let Corral sling the pigskin, while Baylor favors a ground and pound run-first attack, so it’ll be very interesting to see which style wins out.
