It may not be the busiest of schedules in the world of sports on Thursday, but there are still plenty of betting opportunities. We have seven games in the NBA, six in the NHL, and 10 in Major League Baseball. NBA action includes a double-header on TNT that begins with the Brooklyn Nets vs. the Dallas Mavericks, which is one of bettors’ favorite plays of the day. Let’s take a look at where the betting money has gone so far.

NBA: Brooklyn Nets -4 over Dallas Mavericks

Per DraftKings, the public is all over the Nets in their road game against the Mavericks on Thursday night. A bloated 92 percent of the handle plus 74 percent of the bets are backing Brooklyn to cover the -4 spread. Punters also love both the money line and the over in this matchup. The Nets are getting 91 percent of the handle and 76 percent of the wagers on the -159 money line. Meanwhile, 91 percent of the money and 90 percent of the wagers are hoping this game goes over the 234 total.

NBA: Atlanta Hawks ML over Indiana Pacers

Another popular play is on the Atlanta Hawks in their road date with the Indiana Pacers. Atlanta on the -230 money line is inspiring 83 percent of the handle and 77 percent of the bets. Bettors are also relatively enthusiastic about the -6 spread; 76 percent of the money and 78 percent of the wagers are on the Hawks to cover.

NHL: Boston Bruins -1.5 over New York Rangers

Bettors’ favorite NHL play of the day is on the Boston Bruins in their home game against the New York Rangers. Boston on the -1.5 puck line is getting a lofty 83 percent of the handle and 80 percent of the wagers. Bettors are even more willing to incur -250 juice with the money line; 89 percent of the money and 86 percent of the bets are going toward the Bruins to win outright.

NHL: New York Islanders ML over New Jersey Devils

The public is also hammering the New York Islanders, who are hosting the New Jersey Devils. New York is drawing 89 percent of the handle and 81 percent of the bets on the -250 money line. The Islanders are getting plenty of love to cover the -1.5 puck line, too, and that obviously offers superior value. A total of 86 percent of the money and 74 percent of the bets are on New York to prevail by multiple goals.

As you can see on our NHL Picks page, we like both the Bruins and the Islanders on Thursday night.

MLB: Arizona Diamondbacks ML over Miami Marlins

On the baseball diamond, bettors really like the Arizona Diamondbacks to take care of business on the road against the Miami Marlins. The Diamondbacks are plus money at +116, and the public clearly likes that value; although a modest 59 percent of the wagers are going in that direction, a more extensive 81 percent of the handle is doing the same. Arizona is also getting 71 percent of the handle on the -1.5 run line.

We have to agree with the public here. Madison Bumgarner appears to be getting on track for the D-Backs and the Marlins are one of the worst-hitting teams in baseball. Check out our full game preview.
