Major League Baseball is entering crunch time and the Olympics are still going strong. Football season is on the horizon, too, but for now we are still focusing on the diamond and the hardwood. Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far for Friday’s schedule in the sports world.

MLB: Oakland Athletics -1.5 over Texas Rangers

Bettors’ favorite MLB play of the day is on the Athletics to win by multiple runs against the Rangers. Oakland on the -1.5 run line is inspiring bloated 91 percent of the handle and 94 percent of the bets. On the money line, the Athletics are massive -290 favorites. The public certainly isn’t scared away by that juice, though. A total of 85 percent of the money and 93 percent of the bets are supporting Oakland to win straight up.

Olympic basketball: United States -12 over France

We’re not talkin’ about practice anymore. Okay, exhibition games and pool play are not technically practice, but for Team USA they might as well be. The Americans stumbled and bumbled their way through a couple of Olympic warmup contests and even lost to France during the actual competition—albeit during round-robin action. Now the rematch is set and the stakes are much, much higher. In fact, they couldn’t be any higher; U.S.A. vs France is the gold-medal game on Saturday.

Despite a 7-point loss in the group stage, the United States is a -12 favorite of France. Bettors are happy to take the favorites even though the spread is well into double-digits. Head coach Gregg Popovich’s squad is drawing 78 percent of the money and 71 percent of the bets against the spread.

Slovenia on the -145 money line is inspiring 82 percent of the money and 76 percent of the wagers.
