The resumption of the NCAA Tournament is still a day away, but we have plenty of action in the NBA and NHL on Wednesday night. It’s an especially busy night on the professional hardwood, with 11 games taking place.

Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far on Wednesday.

NBA: Brooklyn Nets -2.5 over Memphis Grizzlies

A road game for Brooklyn means Kyrie Irving will be on the floor, and that is surely one of the reasons why the Nets are bettors’ favorite play of the day. The public is putting its faith in Irving and company to the tune of 87% of the money and 72% of the wagers. Brooklyn is also getting hammered on the -140 money line, as 76% of the handle and 69% of the bets are going in that direction.

NBA: Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves Over 236

There is nothing the public loves more than a good over bet, and punters think they have found one with Wednesday’s matchup between Phoenix and Minnesota. With 71% of the bets being put on over 236, 88% of the handle is doing the same.

NHL: Colorado Avalanche ML over Vancouver Canucks

Bettors’ favorite NHL play is on the Avalanche (what’s new?) to win straight up against visiting Vancouver. Colorado (-255 on the money line) is being supported by 90% of the money and 94% of the wagers. The public is mostly willing to take the puck line, too, putting 63% of the handle and 65% of the bets on the Avs -1.5.

We are just as confident if not more when it comes to Colorado, as our NHL expert is backing the home team on -1.5 puck line.

NHL: New Jersey Devils vs Toronto Maple Leafs Over 6.5

It is no surprise that the public is making another over bet on this showdown featuring New Jersey and Toronto – even with the total set at a somewhat lofty 6.5 goals. A total of 89% of the handle and 77% of the wagers are hoping for a high-scoring affair.

We agree with the public on this one, as well.

NCAAB: Duke Blue Devils ML over Texas Tech Red Raiders

Bettors’ favorite play for Thursday’s NCAA Tournament slate is Duke to beat Texas Tech straight up as a small underdog (the spread is Duke +1). A total of 80% of the handle and 78% of the wagers are backing the Blue Devils outright on the -105 money line. The public will also take the point, with 66% of the money and 64% of the wagers going in the direction of head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s crew.
