Merry Christmas! The festive day has finally arrived, and there is plenty of sporting action to get excited for. We’ve got the usual five-game NBA slate to look forward to, as well as a crunch NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints. There are also college football and college basketball matchups taking place on this special day. To get the full sports rundown over the holiday period, make sure you check out our festive guide.

But right now, we’re focusing on Christmas Day. We’ve put together an exciting four-game parlay, with each pick taken from a different sport. A winning ticket gives a nice payout with odds at +1197 with FanDuel Sportsbook — nearly 12/1! Let’s break down each of our four plays. Remember to gamble responsibly.

Best NBA Christmas Day Pick: Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics – Nets -3 (-106)

Both these teams won their season openers, albeit in very different circumstances. The Nets dominated the Warriors from start to finish, while the Celtics relied on a missed free-throw by the Bucks to win that one. Brooklyn crushed Boston when they met in preseason, and a similar result is possible here.

The Nets have a lot more firepower both in their starting lineup and coming off the bench, and also boasts one of the deepest, most balanced rosters in the NBA. The Celtics, meanwhile, had just one player reach double digits against Milwaukee, and Boston could struggle to keep up with Brooklyn’s scoring, especially if Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are firing on all cylinders.

Best NFL Christmas Day Game Pick: Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints – Under 51 points (-110)

Drew Brees still didn’t quite look 100 percent in New Orleans’ loss to Kansas City last week, and with a number of injuries at wide receiver, the Saints could struggle to put points on the board against the Vikings. The Saints will likely lean on running back Alvin Kamara, which will keep the clock moving. As for Minnesota, they will also look to running back Dalvin Cook to carry the load but should struggle in that department given New Orleans’ stout run defense.

Both teams play at a relatively slow pace, and with a run-heavy game expected that should lead to a low-scoring game and keep the total under 50 points.

Best College Football Christmas Day Pick: Marshall Thundering Herd vs. Buffalo Bulls – Bulls -3.5 (-115)

Marshall takes on Buffalo in the Camellia Bowl with both teams looking to bounce back from defeats in their respective Conference Championship games. The Thundering Herd have had a disappointing end to the season, being shut out by Rice before struggling against UAB. That slump is particularly alarming, and gives reason to think that the Bulls will have the edge.

Buffalo’s loss to Ball State, while surprising, was still fairly competitive, and running back Jaret Patterson has looked exceptional this season, leading the nation with an average of 178.7 rushing yards per game. He has also scored 19 touchdowns. No team has found a solution for Buffalo’s run game, and that should see them win this one comfortably.

Best College Basketball Christmas Day Pick: Maryland Terrapins vs. Purdue Boilermakers – Terrapins +5.5 (-115)

Maryland has been somewhat inconsistent so far this season, but they should at least keep things close when they take on Purdue. The Terrapins have tremendous talent down the wing to cause problems for any team, and are certainly capable of going toe to toe with a Boilermakers team that have shown a narrow margin for error already this season. This Christmas Day college basketball game seems like a bit of a pick ’em, so it’s worth siding with Maryland and the points.
