There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Sunday, including at Aqueduct race track. We are up 183.85 units dating back to Aug. 5 after nailing an 8/1 longshot on Thursday, a 4/1 winner on Friday, and two winners out of five races on Saturday. Let’s maintain the momentum!

Here are five runners whom we expected to have a leg up on the rest of the competition. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.

1:45 pm Aqueduct (Race 5) – The Important One 6/5

Improving beyond comprehension in recent starts, Steve Asmussen’s daughter of Majestic City completed a hat-trick by winning the Iroquois at Belmont In October. That was a career-best figure and there’s no telling how much further dhe can go, especially given the manner of her most recent stakes success. She doesn’t have the best draw, but her early pace can help her overcome that and make it four on the bounce.

2:14 pm Aqueduct (Race 6) – Nikostratos 5/2

A son of Declaration of War, he cost $115,000 as a yearling and wasn’t unfancied for his Belmont debut in October. Racing off the pace and caught five-wide on the turn, he made up plenty of ground in the stretch in very promising fashion. With natural improvement, he should post a much-improved performance today set up well from stall four, he has all the tools to go well.

3:14 pm Aqueduct (Race 8) – Panster 2/1

Christophe Clement’s three-year-old has rapidly improved this year, graduating at the first attempt in 2021 before adding to his tally two starts later in a starter allowance contest. On his most recent start, he was second in a $90,000 allowance race at Saratoga from a bad draw. He’s got a much better gate on this occasion and on paper, this race does look easier. He has the speed to overcome a drop in trip and he’s entitled to run a big race.

4:13 pm Aqueduct (Race 10) – Market Alert 12/1

Has run some good races in similar New York Stallion Series contests in 2020 and 2021, including a close third twelve months ago. He arrives in career-best form, having got up in the nick of time at Belmont last month, his third career win. It’s still early days for him overall and drawn well in stall two, he can surely play a role at a big price.
