Horse Racing picks at Belmont Park for Thursday, June 24: Robin Sparkles to shine
There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Thursday, including at Belmont Park race track. Here are three runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.
3.38pm ET, Belmont Park (Race 2) – Grand Ave Girl +200
The selection is an unraced daughter of Runhappy and out of the Holy Bull mare One More. Has caught the eye in the mornings delivering some impressive workouts including when clocking a 48.20 four furlong breeze at Monmouth Park earlier this month. Latest clocked work was a less impressive 49.46 here but the three-year-old, a $300,00 purchase as a yearling at the Keeneland September sale back in 2019 can make a winning debut for leading trainer Chad Brown.
4.40pm ET, Belmont Park (Race 4) – Irresistible Girl +250
Broke her maiden at the fourth time of asking when making her first start at this track at the end of April. Made all on that occasion to register a two-and-a-quarter length victory over six furlongs in a state-bred maiden special weight affair over six furlongs. Proved a disappointment when finishing a well beaten fourth over an extra half-furlong here subsequently but was unable to dominate that day. Can return to winning ways having drawn the rail in this contest.
6.45pm ET, Belmont Park (Race 8) – Robin Sparkles +180
Bruce Brown’s charge catches the eye having been in good form since breaking her maiden in a maiden claiming event at Saratoga in August last year. Since then the daughter of Elusive Quality has yet to finish off the board including when delivering a first stakes triumph in the Mount Vernon over a mile on the main track here at the end of last month. Switch to turf is no issue and she can complete a double down in trip.
Race 1 – 4, 6
Race 2 – 1, 4
Race 3 – 3, 5
Total Stake: $16.00
