Horse Racing picks at Del Mar and Belmont Park race tracks on Sunday, November 7: It's Showtime

Jockey Leslie Mawing atop Highwaytwentyseven (5) wins the second race of the day as the Tampa Bay Downs

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Sunday, including at Del Mar and Belmont Park race tracks. Here are 4 runners whom we expected to have a leg up on the rest of the competition. We have been crushing our horse picks for several months now, and we plan on maintaining the momentum.

Let’s dive in discuss these potentially profitable plays.

6:30 pm Del Mar (Race 7) – Fearless Girl 5/2

Previously trained by John Joseph Murphy in Ireland, she made a good start to life in the US when second over track and distance in September. That run came in today’s allowance grade and she had no luck when fifth at Santa Anita subsequently, so that effort is best ignored. A return to Del Mar is certainly in her favour and she has a good draw to work from in post three. Back over the mile, in a race with a strong pace, she’s going to be very tough to beat.

7:00 pm Del Mar (Race 8) – Warren’s Showtime 2/1

Winner of the Grade 3 Wilshire at Santa Anita back in June, he almost followed up when third in the Solana Beach over the mile at Del Mar in August. He quickly returned to winning ways by landing the California Distaff Handicap last time, clearly relishing a drop in trip. Seven furlongs should prove perfect for him and he was second in this race twelve months ago. He hasn’t finished outside the top three in his last 13 starts and he’s an obvious candidate despite a wide draw.

3:14 pm Belmont Park (Race 8) – Buy Land and See 4/1

A lightly-raced four-year-old, he won three of his first four starts, including an allowance victory at Parx. He’s failed to score in three subsequent starts, but he’s been aimed high, pitched into a pair of graded stakes races, including the Grade 2 Hill Prince. He was making his return from a year off the track when seventh in the Grade 3 Belmont Turf Sprint Invitational last time and he’s entitled to come on plenty for that. He has the ideal draw in post one and if Kendrick Carmouche can make the lead on this big class drop, he won’t be for passing.

3:43 pm Belmont Park (Race 9) – Rockefeller 7/5

A $750,000 purchase, this son of Medaglia D’Oro made a winning debut over six furlongs at Del Mar in August. He was a shade disappointing in the American Pharoah at Santa Anita last time, but that form has worked out incredibly well and he’s certainly capable of better than what he showed in that Grade 1 contest. He’s now down significantly in grade and returned to Del Mar over this shorter trip, he can get his career back on track for hall of fame trainer Bob Baffert.
