Here are three runners whom we expected to have a leg up on the rest of the competition. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.
12:37 pm Parx (Race 2) – Russian Runner 3/1
Broke his maiden when delivering a length success having raced from off the pace in a maiden claiming event over seven furlongs at this venue early last month. Failed to go on from a promising fourth in a starter optional claimer subsequently when finishing down the field in sixth following a slow break over the same track and trip here however. Gets a welcome drop in grade here and can prove hard to beat for trainer Jose Calderon.
2:25 pm Parx (Race 6) – Buster Bruno 3/1
Has plenty of experience under his belt including when placed twice at this venue including when coming home seven lengths second over five-and-one-half-furlongs. Had some trouble in running on that occasion and shaped as if the extra distance here would be a positive when finishing five-and-a-half-lengths third over the same course and distance on October 18 and the gelding is taken to provide jockey Kendrick Carmouche with a winner following a 38.22 three furlong work here.
3:19 pm Parx (Race 8) – Parsimony 1/1
Has been competitive at a much higher level in the past including when sixth in the Group 2 Godolphin Mile at Meydan back in March. Fair efforts since including when finishing last of four in a mile-and-one-sixteenth allowance optional claimer at Santa Anita at the start of last month. Gets an easier contest on his debut for new connections and he is taken to register a victory switched to an allowance contest by new trainer Danny Gargan.
