Horse Racing picks for Belmont Park race track (held at Aqueduct) on Thursday, September 29: Big Everest is worth the climb

Jockey Leslie Mawing atop Highwaytwentyseven (5) wins the second race of the day as the Tampa Bay Downs

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Thursday, including at Belmont Park race track. We have been on fire with our picks for a long time now and we are up +300.24 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Belmont Park race track.

3:35 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 6) – Piece Of My Heart 12/1 (1-star play)

A field of eight females take to the stage for Race 6 at Belmont At The Big A which is a competitive $115,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event over six furlongs on the turf and it’s one of the outsiders in this field, Piece Of My Heart, who can go well for Linda Rice and her team. Form figures in this grade here this season read 322 with that latest second being her most recent start so she looks to be overpriced from what is an ideal draw in stall three.

4:09 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 7) – Big Everest 7/2 (2-star play)

Race 7 is another hotly contested Allowance Optional Claimer but this time over a mile trip and I like the chances of the Christophe Clement trained four-year-old down in stall one, Big Everest. This son of The Gurkha is still relatively unexposed and gained a wire-to-wire victory over an extended mile at Belmont Park back in July so if he can get out and into a prominent position early under Joel Rosario then he can win again with stamina guaranteed.

4:41 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 8) – Up To The Mark 3/1 (2-star play)

Todd Pletcher holds a strong hand in the penultimate contest with Gasoline and Up To The Mark, both of which have lovely profiles with room for improvement but it’s the latter colt Up To The Mark who is a son of Not This Time and can take this Allowance over a mile and an eighth. He was an impressive winner over six furlongs on debut at Saratoga in July before finishing a battling third over a mile at the same course a few weeks ago so, with that experience under his belt and this step up in trip expected to suit, he should go well.

5:13 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 9) – Uncle Marty 7/2 (2-star play)

The finale at Belmont At The Big A features some lovely well bred two-year-olds, many of which are making their debuts but it can prove beneficial to side with a horse who has racecourse experience for this and Uncle Marty has that. Linda Rice’s son of Uncle Mo showed vast improvement from his debut ninth to his second placed finish on his next start so if he can improve again from that then he can win this.
