7:39 pm Del Mar (Race 7) – Boltage 2/1 (2-star play)
Trained by Richard Mandella, the son of Bolt d’Oro showed ability when debuting with a sixth in a 5-furlong maiden special weight on the main track here in July. However, Boltage showed improvement when stepped up to a mile to register an impressive five-and-a-quarter-length success on the turf course here last month. Ramon A Vazquez, on board for both of those efforts, is again in the saddle and his mount looks capable of delivering his first stakes success.
8:10 pm Del Mar (Race 8) – Devil Be Me 3/1 (2-star play)
The 5-year-old is lightly-raced for one his age with just 5 starts to his name having missed the whole of 2022 and the first 4 months of 2023. However, Devil Be Me has made up for lost time since returning, completing a hat-trick when putting three-and-a-quarter-lengths between himself and his rivals over a mile in an allowance optional claimer here last month. Races over the same track and trip here and is taken to continue his winning run.

The son of Speightstown has impressed in winning both starts to date, including when debuting with an 8-length victory over 5 furlongs at Los Alamitos in July. The $950,000 yearling purchase completed a double when drawing four-and-a-quarter-lengths clear of his rivals in the Grade 3 Best Pal Stakes over 6 furlongs here last month and stepping up a furlong in distance he is selected to maintain his unbeaten record with Flavien Prat up for trainer Bob Baffert.
