Horse Racing picks for Belmont At The Big A race track on Friday, October 27: Overacting steals the show

Horse racing at Belmont Park

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Friday, including at Belmont At The Big A race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +145.95 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Belmont At The Big A race track.

1:40 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 3) – Overacting 5/2 (2-star play)

The daughter of Mendelssohn was purchased for $225,000 as a yearling in 2021 and while she failed to make the track at two she made the perfect start to her racing career when breaking her maiden by a length having made all the running in a maiden special weight held over a mile-and-one-sixteenth on yielding going at Saratoga in July. The filly followed up with a half-length third over the same course and distance and is selected to score here.

2:44 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 5) – Bustin Bay 4/1 (1-star play)

The five-year-old showed good form for the Linda Rice barn earlier this year including when completing a double when successful by one-and-a-half-lengths in a $50,000 allowance optional claiming contest over a mile-and-one-eighth at Saratoga in July. The Bustin Stones mare rejoined the Rice barn having delivered a three-and-a-quarter-length success over a mile on a sloppy main track here just over a month ago and is selected to follow up with Irad Ortiz, on board for her last three starts up.

3:16 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 6) – Gold Lightning 3/1 (2-star play)

Brad Cox’s colt came from off the pace to deliver a two-and-a-quarter-length victory when making his debut in a maiden special weight over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at Saratoga at the end of August. Successful on a good track that day the filly faded late on when sixth in the Grade 2 Miss Grillo Stakes over the same distance on a firm track here earlier this month. She looks capable of returning to the winners’ enclosure in this contest.

3:50 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 7) – Technical Analysis 8/5 (2-star play)

The mare showed good form when delivering a gate to wire success in the Listed De La Rose Stakes over a mile at Saratoga at the start of August. The five-year-old raced prominently when upped to Grade 2 company for the Ballston Spa Stakes over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at the same venue later that month. The pick finished a length fifth on that occasion and having been given a break since she is taken to return to the winners’ enclosure here.

4:22 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 8) – Durante 5/2 (2-star play)

The gelding registered victories in his first three starts for trainer David Jacobson including when drawing five lengths clear of his rivals in a six-and-a-half-furlong allowance optional claiming race at this venue last month. The four-year-old suffered his first defeat for the handler when losing out by a head in a similar contest over six furlongs on a sloppy track here just under two weeks ago. Registered a big speed figure that day and can reverse form with Cowan.
