Horse Racing picks for Belmont Park race track on Friday, May 13: Eloquent Speaker is a fast runner

Swiss Skydiver wins the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Racetrack.

There is plenty of great horse-racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Belmont Park.

We have been on fire with our picks for a long time now and are up +278.85 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Belmont Park.

3:34 pm Belmont Park (Race 6) – Enid 6/1 (1-star play)

Race 6 at Belmont Park is a competitive $94,000 Allowance Optional Claimer over a mile on the turf and I like the colt in stall five, Enid, who was an easy winner in this grade at Turfway Park last time out and has every chance of winning again. He won by seven and a half lengths on that occasion and is showing a good amount of improvement from race to race, so he is one to keep on side here.

4:02 pm Belmont Park (Race 7) – Eloquent Speaker 7/2 (2-star play)

Mark Casse’s Eloquent Speaker is a consistent mare who has finished in the first three in 10 of her 15 starts to date and she has won at this course so all looks set for another good effort from her in this $94,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event, Race 7. That win here came over this distance of six furlongs and this mare has been placed at Black Type level, so it would not surprise should she put her best foot forward.

4:40 pm Belmont Park (Race 8) – Sweet Mia 3/1 (2-star play)

The penultimate race at Belmont Park is one for the female division and this is a $55,000 Claiming contest over an extended six furlongs on the dirt and one who will take all the beating here is Sweet Mia. Charlton Baker’s mare hit the board in two similar races at this track last season and a return here may just be what she needs, having been running at Aqueduct, and there’s no doubt that she’s good enough to win this.

5:12 pm Belmont Park (Race 9) – Hereby 3/1 (2-star play)

A field of 16 is set to go to post for the ninth and final race at Belmont Park, which looks fairly open on paper. I like the Christophe Clement trained Hereby who is improving nicely and should come on a fair amount from a recent third at Aqueduct. His speed figures have been improving with each run and if this son of Hard Spun improves again then he should be paying a visit to the winners enclosure in the finale.
