6:56 pm Churchill Downs (Race 5) – Gin Gin 3/1 (2-star play)

Race 5 at Churchill Downs features some impeccably bred two-year-old fillies, many of whom are making their debuts, and I like the Brad Cox trained Gin Gin who was second on debut last month.

That experience at Horseshoe Indianapolis will hold her in good stead for this and she should appreciate this step up to seven furlongs.

7:25 pm Churchill Downs (Race 6) – The Great Maybe 9/2 (1-star play)

This is an open looking $127,000 Allowance in which the likes of Pistol and High Class are to be feared but one who can go well is the highly tried filly in gate eleven, The Great Maybe.

Cherie DeVaux’s filly is taking a drop in grade having contested stakes races as a two-year-old and she looks ready to do herself justice off the back of some impressive recent workouts at Keeneland.

7:54 pm Churchill Downs (Race 7) – Promise Keeper 4/1 (1-star play)

The penultimate event at Churchill Downs is an Allowance Optional Claimer for the older generation and Promise Keeper, who ran second in this grade two starts back, can strike under Tyler Gaffalione.

This son of Constitution is a graded winner and is good enough to win this if finding anything close to his best form.

8:23 pm Churchill Downs (Race 8) – Concerted 7/2 (2-star play)

A field of thirteen are set to go to post for the finale which looks to be between Mo Flight and Concerted with preference for the Godolphin owned gelding who has been knocking on the door in three starts to date.

He has recorded form figures of 332 in Maiden races so far and this son of Hard Spun has every chance to break his duck at the fourth time of asking.
