Horse Racing picks for Del Mar race track on Wednesday, November 3: Livingmybestlife is the best bet

Jockey Leslie Mawing atop Highwaytwentyseven (5) wins the second race of the day as the Tampa Bay Downs

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Wednesday, including at Del Mar race track. Here are 4 runners that we think are worth a wager today.

yesterday’s 3 picks at Parx race track all made the frame with 3-star pick Thorny Tale winning at 8/5!

Let’s dive in and explain the reasoning between each of today’s Del Mar picks.

5:34pm Del Mar (Race 5) – Ronamo 5/2

Race 5 at Del Mar is a $28,000 Claiming contest over an extended six furlongs on the dirt and the horse down on the rail, Romano, can make best of his way home from the one post.

Philip D’Amato’s gelding has won and finished second on two occasions from four starts around this track and certainly has the ability to win his first run in a claimer. If he can get a good start from the stalls and into a good position early he should go close.

6:06pm Del Mar (Race 6) – Moraz 5/1

We have yet to see the best of Michael McCarthy’s Moraz and she can take this $72,000 Allowance Optional Claimer. This daughter of Empire Maker has been running with great credit all year as she’s hit the board in a Grade 2 and two Grade 3s and the only time she’s finished out of the first three is when she finished 11th in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks, but that race came way too soon for her.

Two good efforts in this company followed that and I like her chances of a trip to the winner’s circle as she is only going to get better with age.

6:40pm Del Mar (Race 7) – Livingmybestlife 5/2

The penultimate race at Del Mar is the $100,000 Seashell Stakes over a mile on the dirt in which a field of six look set to go to post. They all have their work cut out to catch Livingmybestlife who can make all of the running under Juan Hernandez.

Recent reports from trainer John Sadler have been that this filly is in fine fettle and her latest win in the Lucky Spell Stakes in September certainly proved that as she won by a comfortable two lengths and she could still be improving so it will take a good one to beat her.

7:13pm Del Mar (Race 8) – Really Big News 6/1

An open-looking $70,000 Maiden Special Weight is the last race at Del Mar and I like the look of the horse in stall 5, Really Big News, who was third in a similar contest two starts back and should give another good account of himself.

That effort was at this course and he followed it up with a good fourth at Santa Anita, while shaping as though this step up to a mile will suit and he has a live chance to get on the board.
