Joe Sharp’s Right Tone has shown solid form at a higher level in the recent past, including when 3rd in a 9-runner 6 1/2 furlong allowance at Churchill Downs 3 starts back. He was 5th, having been forced to race wide on the turn over 7 furlongs on turf at Kentucky Downs at the start of last month.
He has run well at this distance in the past and, returning to the main track and dropped in grade, he is selected to deliver a victory.
2:36 pm ET Keeneland (Race 4) – Unlimitedpotential 1/2 (3-star play)
Unlimitedpotential was fancied in the market when making his debut in a 7-furlong maiden special weight at Saratoga in August. Runner-up when beaten 7 1/4 lengths on that occasion, he has impressed in his work in recent times, including when clocking 47.39 in a 4-furlong breeze at the New York venue at the end of last month.
Trainer Todd Pletcher boasts an impressive 40% strike-rate (4/10) at this meeting and his charge is selected to break his maiden at the second attempt.
4:12 pm ET Keeneland (Race 7) – Twilight Gleaming 7/2 (2-star play)
Twilight Gleaming has shown good form in 3 starts since delivering a half-length victory in the Grade 2 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint over 5 furlongs at Del Mar in November, including when racing on the speed prior to delivering a half-length success in the Daisycutter Handicap over the same course and distance at the end of July.
She has advertised her wellbeing with a serious of solid works since and is taken to score with John Velazquez in the saddle.
