Delivered an improved effort with today’s jockey Ruben Silvera up when finishing runner-up, beaten three-quarters-of-a-length in a six furlong $12,500 claiming contest here earlier this month. The extra half-furlong here should prove no issue given the daughter of Mosler has performed well over seven furlongs in the past and the four-year-old, who is likely to track the pace is selected to score for trainer Juan C Vazquez having placed on three of her six previous starts at this venue.
2:43 pm (Race 5) – Roadtriptonowhere 9/5 (2-star play)
Demonstrated plenty of ability in maiden special weight contests on both turf and the main track at Gulfstream Park to date including when finishing three-and-three-quarter-lengths fourth in a firm ground mile-and-one-sixteenth contest a month ago. Hit the gate and was drawn widest of all that day but with a kinder draw here and switching to what looks an easier contest he is taken to break his maiden at the sixth time of asking with Frankie Pennington booked to ride.
3:37 pm (Race 7) – Mutasallem 3/1 (2-star play)
Placed second in maiden special weight contests on his first three starts including when beaten two-and-three-quarter-lengths over a mile-and-one-sixteenth on turf at Belmont Park just over a year ago. Made his debut for current handler Scott Lake when finishing a well held third over six furlongs at Laurel earlier this month. The step back up in trip here is a positive and the Union Rags colt looks capable of delivering a victory on his first start at this venue.
