He was successful twice from seven starts at this venue including when taking a $40,000 maiden claiming contest over seven furlongs on a sloppy track here last October. Delivered his first victory since when making all to win by an impressive five-and-three-quarter-lengths on a good main track over the same trip last month. Promising apprentice Jaime A Torres keeps the ride and while both victories have come on wet tracks the pick has placed on a fast track in the past.
1:16 pm Parx (Race 4) – Shaking Rags 2/1 (2-star play)
Down the field on a sloppy main track here over six furlongs when debuting in October Juan Carlos Avila’s charge took a marked step forward when going down by a head in a maiden over the same track and trip on a fast surface in December. He was given a break since he shapes as if this step up in distance will suit while the use of lasix for the first time is a further positive with Carlos Olivero up.

He finished on the board in four of his six starts since delivering an impressive six-and-three-quarter-length victory in a $15,000 claimer here in July last year. That triumph came over this course and distance and he has been given a break since a third place finish in a starter optional claimer here at the end of November. He comes into this race on the back of a 50.58 four furlong breeze here and is taken to register a seventh career success.
