A maiden special weight winner at Belmont Park in 2020, Garoppolo was making just his 5th appearance since when taking a mile-and-one-sixteenth $16,000 claimer last month. The son of Outwork changed trainer following that effort and the colt is taken to deliver a victory with trainer Jamie Ness boasting an impressive 31% strike rate (125/403) at this course.
4:31 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – V Mart 10/11 (3-star play)
V Mart debuted with an impressive eight-and-three-quarter-length victory in a muddy track five-and-one-half-furlong maiden special weight at Saratoga in July. He appeared to find the trip too far when fading upped to stakes company in the Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park a month ago. The return to sprinting here is a positive and having drawn the rail, the son of Hard Spun looks up to getting out to make all with Paco Lopez in the saddle for the first time.
4:58 pm ET Parx (Race 10) – Thegoddessofsnakes 13/8 (2-star play)
Thegoddessofsnakes has shown good form in three starts since switching to the Jamie Ness stable, winning twice, including in a seven-furlong $16,000 allowance optional claiming race here at the start of last month. Since then, she has finished third by a length and a half over six-and-one-half-furlongs in a $25,000 starter event two weeks ago. Unable to dominate on that occasion, the daughter of Street Boss is well drawn four off the rail and is selected to register a fourth win in five starts at this venue.
