Horse Racing picks for Parx race track on Tuesday, September 5: Startwithabang can finish fast too

Jockey Leslie Mawing atop Highwaytwentyseven (5) wins the second race of the day as the Tampa Bay Downs

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Tuesday, including at Parx race track in Philadelphia. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +203.05 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Parx race track.

You can bet on all today’s sports at FanDuel, America’s #1 sportsbook, which has a great new customer offer where you can bet $5 and receive $200 in bonus bets plus $100 off NFL Sunday Ticket! Click here to take advantage of this awesome offer.

12:40pm ET Parx (Race 1) – J Wass 7/5 (2-star play)

Both of this 6-year-old’s victories have come at this venue, however the gelding recorded a slightly disappointing effort when fading over 6.5 furlongs there on his penultimate start. He put that effort behind him when suffering a neck defeat in finishing 2nd over this trip at Monmouth Park subsequently.

Trainer Kathleen A Demasi boasts a 21% strike-rate (29/135) at this meeting and her representative looks capable of improving on that with a victory in this contest.

1:07 pm ET Parx (Race 2) – Hurricane Highway 6/5 (2-star play)

The son of Quality Road was claimed for $16,000 following a 5th-place finish in a claiming event over 6 furlongs at Churchill Downs in May. The 7-year-old has made just one start since joining the Jamie Ness barn, finishing 3rd in a $25,000 claimer at Parx in early July.

Given a break since, he drops markedly in grade today and with Jaime A Torres booked to ride, he looks capable of recording his 6th career success.

1:34 pm ET Parx (Race 3) – Startwithabang 3/5 (3-star play)

Trained by Jamie Ness, this mare has been performing at a much higher level, including when racing very wide prior to finishing 14.25 lengths 6th in a $25,000 claiming event over a mile at Parx at the start of July.

Given a break since, she arrives on the back of a highly respectable 50.60 4-furlong breeze at Delaware Park on August 26 and, with Ruben Silver up, she looks up to registering her first victory since joining her current handler.
