1:44 pm Saratoga (Race 2) – My Mane Squeeze 7/2 (2-star play)

The daughter of Audible showed ability when making her debut in a six furlong maiden special weight at this venue last month. My Mane Squeeze raced in sixth in the early stages prior to delivering an eight-and-three-quarter-length third in a 9-runner contest. The 2-year-old is expected to have improved for that experience and with Tyler Gaffalione taking over in the saddle here she looks capable of delivering a victory following a 49.90 4-furlong work at Belmont Park.

2:20 pm Saratoga (Race 3) – Khali Magic 2/1 (2-star play)

The 5-year-old is the winner of 2 of her last 3 starts with both of those victories coming on the main track including by a head when making all over six-and-a-half-furlongs in a Belmont Park allowance event in June. Khai Magic had failed to shine when ninth on turf prior to that and with Manny Franco, on board for her two most recent victories up once more the mare is taken to record her seventh career win.

2:52 pm Saratoga (Race 4) – Carl Spackler 4/5 (3-star play)

Trained by Chad Brown, the colt is the winner of 2 of his 3 previous starts — including when delivering a first Graded stakes success when taking out the Grade 2 Hall Of Fame Stakes over a mile on a good turf course at this venue. The extra sixteenth should prove no issue here, and the son of Lope de Vega is expected to prove hard to beat following a 49.66 4-furlong work on turf here last week.

3:26 pm Saratoga (Race 5) – Locked 6/5 (2-star play)

A $425,000 purchase the Keeneland September Yearling Sale 12 months ago the colt showed ability in the mornings prior to making his debut at this venue just under a month ago. Racing from off the pace, the Gun Runner colt caught the eye in finishing three-and-a-half-lengths second in a 6-furlong maiden special weight on that occasion. Locked delivered a good speed figure on that occasion and with improvement likely looks capable of breaking his maiden upped in distance.

4:34 pm Saratoga (Race 7) – Root Cause 3/1 (2-star play)

The Into Mischief filly recorded her first victory when winning over a mile-and-one-eighth at Gulfstream Park back in March. Root Cause tracked the pace early on in that contest and put a subsequent below par Churchill Downs effort behind her when a length third over a mile-and-one-sixteenth in an allowance optional claimer at Belmont Park in June. Given a break since she is taken to help trainer Chad Brown improve on his 21% strike rate (30 for 145) at this meeting.
