There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Saratoga race track. We are still red hot with our horse racing picks; we have hit 44 winners in our last 95 races, profiting 68.3 units during this hot stretch. Let’s keep it rolling! Here are 5 runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. It’s time to dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

12:35 pm Saratoga (Race 1) – War Smoke 5/2

The selection showed plenty of ability when racing from off the pace prior to finishing strongly to claim second, beaten a neck in a maiden special weight over this course and distance when making his debut in July. Bumped exiting the gate that day Jeremiah Englehart’s charge is likely to have improved for the experience and with a good draw in gate five he is taken to get off the mark at the second time of asking.

1:10 pm Saratoga (Race 2) – Grumps Little Tots 3/1

The winner of a claiming contest by a nose over this trip having raced close to the pace at Aqueduct in February, the selection has struggled to challenge for the win in four subsequent starts including in a Graded stakes race. Gets a significant drop in grade here having finished nine-and-a-quarter-lengths fourth in a $50,000 claimer over this track and trip last month and looks capable of helping trainer Rob Atras improve on his 30% strike-rate (13/43) at this meeting.

2:47 pm Saratoga (Race 5) – Souper Sensational 6/5

Scored in Grade 3 company over an extended six furlongs at Belmont Park earlier this year and looks up to going in again dropping in grade having finished a good second in the Grade 1 Test Stakes over seven furlongs at this track last month. Versatile with regards to tactics the filly, due to be ridden by Ricardo Santana should have no issues dropping back to six furlongs here and can register a second graded stakes success.

6:11 pm Saratoga (Race 11) – War Like Goddess 4/5

The winner of five of her six previous starts the selection impressed when racing from off the pace prior to taking out the Grade 2 Glens Falls Stakes over one-mile-and-a-half by three-and-a-quarter-lengths at this venue last month. Bill Mott’s charge has regular pilot Julien Leparoux in the saddle once more and while Glen Falls runner-up My Sister Nat is again in opposition the daughter of English Channel looks capable of confirming the form to register a first Grade 1 victory.

6:46 pm Saratoga (Race 12) – Happy Saver 9/5

Lightly-raced since taking this race 12 months ago with the selection having made just the two starts including when winning an allowance optional claimer over an extended mile at Belmont Park in May. The son of Super Saver lost his unbeaten record when third on a sloppy track in the Grade 2 Suburban Stakes over this trip at the same venue subsequently but Todd Pletcher’s charge looks up to returning to winning ways to register back-to-back victories in this contest.
