4:34 pm ET Saratoga (Race 7) – Sweet Mystery 2/1 (2-star play)

Race 7 at Saratoga is an Allowance Optional Claimer over a mile trip on the dirt course and I like the filly drawn on the outside in gate six, Sweet Mystery, who was a close second behind a nice horse here last time out.

She was beaten a neck by Linda Rice’s in-form Amanda’s Folly and if she can run close to that form then she will take all the beating.

5:10 pm ET Saratoga (Race 8) – Timed Out 4/1 (2-star play)

A field of eight older horses are set to go to post for this six furlong Claiming contest in which To A T is likely to take plenty of beating but one who can upset the likely favourite is James Ferraro’s Timed Out.

This daughter of Flat Out has been in great form this campaign with three victories to her name and she should be right there at the finish if her impressive recent workout is anything to go by.

5:44 pm ET Saratoga (Race 9) – Jumbly 6/1 (2-star play)

The $300,000 Grade 2 Mohegan Sun Ballston Spa Stakes is an ultra competitive affair with a case to be made for all four of the Chad Brown four runners but this can go to the European raider, Jumbly.

Joseph O’Brien’s classy filly should enjoy the style of racing in the US as she possesses a potent turn of foot so if John Velazquen can weave his way through from the rear then look out the rest of the opposition.

6:18 pm ET Saratoga (Race 10) – Dr Kringle 6/1 (1-star play)

Ian Wilkes’s Dr Kringle is slowly getting the hang of things as he gains more experience and he is taken to win this Maiden Special Weight which is the finale on the card at Saratoga.

His second in a Maiden Claimer here last month was a nice effort and his outside draw should suit as Flavien Prat can just tuck in behind the leaders and they will have every chance from there.
