1:46 pm ET Saratoga (Race 2) – Perfect Munnings 1/1 (2-star play)
Trained by Linda Rice the pick was competing in stakes company when last in action finishing third in races at Aqueduct in his two most recent outings. The son of Munnings was beaten six lengths over a mile on a muddy main track in the Alex M Robb Stakes in December and is taken to debut for the Rice barn with a victory dropping markedly in grade with Jose Ortiz booked to ride for his seasonal reappearance.
3:36 pm ET Saratoga (Race 5) – Red Moon 9/5 (2-star play)
The filly has shown solid form at a higher level of late including when seven-and-a-half-lengths fourth in a stakes event over a mile on a good turf course here last month. The switch to the main track shouldn’t prove too much of an issue having performed well on dirt when fourth over six furlongs in a Belmont Park allowance in May and the daughter of Redsdale is selected to register her first victory since joining the William E Morey stable.
4:00 pm ET Saratoga (Race 6) – Mischief Joke 9/5 (2-star play)
The son of Practical Joke has belied his cheap $6,500 purchase price in four starts to date finishing on the board on each occasion. The most recent of those saw the colt suffer a head defeat when runner-up in a similar race to this over six furlongs here last month. The step up in distance looks likely to suit the Michael Maker-trained individual and he is taken to get off the mark following a 48.77 four furlong work here recently.
