Let’s get into our mega parlay for Sunday.

Let’s break down each of the legs one by one.

New York Mets alternate run line -2.5 (+106) over Colorado Rockies

To start off this mega parlay, we’re going with the Mets on an alternate run line. Max Scherzer gets the start on Sunday, and he’s been a force in 2022. Scherzer has posted a 2.33 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP through 115.2 innings this season, often dominating at Citi Field. At home this season, Scherzer has a 1.71 ERA and opponents are hitting just .205! In the veteran’s last 3 starts at home, Scherzer has allowed just 1 run and 18 hits in 21.0 IP. Those starts came against the Yankees, Braves and Phillies, who are among the league’s best offenses. The Rockies can’t say the same away from home.

On the other side, German Marquez has been an average pitcher at best for Colorado. Marquez’s stats are inflated since he pitches at Coors Field half of the time, but even so, his numbers aren’t great. Marquez holds a 4.11 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP on the road this season, and he should struggle against a tough Mets lineup. The Rockies lineup is hapless away from Coors Field, dropping to 29th in the majors in runs per game on the road. Scherzer and the Mets are the sensible choice in this game, and I believe it’ll turn into a blowout.

Chicago White Sox -1.5 (+128) over Arizona Diamondbacks

For the second leg of our parlay, we’re going with the White Sox on the run line. Dylan Cease will take the mound for the White Sox, and they’ll need to take advantage of that after losing 3 straight games. Despite that, Chicago is still in the mix to win the AL Central. However, in order to get back into the division, the White Sox offense needs to start producing. That means all hands should be on deck for this matchup.

Diamondbacks starter Zach Davies actually hasn’t been terrible recently. But his solid starts came against a depleted Giants team and a Royals lineup that simply can’t hit. Davies’ most recent start against a playoff team came against the Guardians, in which the Arizona staff pulled him after just 2 innings. That’s a bad omen for a Diamondbacks team with the league’s 6th-worst bullpen. On the other side, Cease should be in for a solid bounce-back start. After 14 straight outings of allowing 1 earned run or less, he’s allowed multiple runs in his last 2 starts. However, Cease is still the 2nd favorite to win the AL Cy Young for a reason. With a 2.27 ERA and 182 strikeouts this season, you can back Cease with confidence in this one.

Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 (+132) over Chicago Cubs

To close out this mega parlay, we’re going with the Brewers on the run line. Milwaukee had the division lead at the all-star break, but has been mired in a slump since. Thankfully for Brewers fans, Eric Lauer should give them a great chance at taking this series finale. The left-hander is pitching well of late, and has already won both of his home starts against the Cubs this season. Lauer allowed just 2 runs combined in 16.0 IP in those starts, as the Brewers won both games by multiple runs.

The same can’t be said for Cubs starter Adrian Sampson, who is coming off quite a rough outing. He was shelled by the red-hot Cardinals for 5 runs in just 3.1 innings. Sampson’s ERA over 4.00 and 1.32 WHIP aren’t going to cut it against a playoff-caliber team like Milwaukee. The Brewers’ lineup is streaky, but they still have multiple former MVPs in their arsenal, while the Cubs primarily rely solely on Ian Happ and Willson Contreras. With Lauer pitching at his best in recent starts, expect him to deliver again on Sunday.
