Astros -1.5 & game total over 9.5 (+180)

The Royals have taken it to the Astros this weekend at a very inopportune time for Houston. The Astros maintain a half-game lead in the AL West over the Rangers and a 1.5-game lead over the Mariners. But they can’t be losing to the Royals at this time of year. Houston is far and away the better team but is on a little bit of a slide. The Astros should come out buzzing looking to get back in the win column.

There have been 24 runs scored in this series for an average of 12 runs per game. Saturday’s game brought the 5th over in Houston’s last 6 games, the 5th over in the last 7 head-to-heads between these teams, and the 12th over in Kansas City’s last 18 home games. The over always has a good look against the Royals and the Astros should do their part. It should not take much for the Royals to play their role in taking this game over the total.

Brewers -1.5 & game total over 8.5 (+235)

The Brewers have got the job done lately at a time they really needed it. They were 2.5 games over the Cubs in the NL Central earlier this month but have ridden a 7-2 run to now hold a 5.5-game lead. Going back even further, Milwaukee is 19-7 in its last 26 games. This is a very good team that is peaking at a very good time. The Brewers should be able to run up the score today.

This series has brought plenty of run production and today’s game sets up for more of the same. Patrick Corbin will get the start for the Nationals, which has given the over a great look over the past few years. Although Brandon Woodruff is starting for the Brewers and he has been stellar lately, the over has still hit in his last 2 starts. Look for high totals trend to continue in this game with Milwaukee doing the heavy lifting.
