New York Yankees -1.5 over Minnesota Twins (+130)

The Yankees are looking to sweep the Twins and it very well could happen with Marcus Stroman taking the mound on Thursday. Stroman is 5-2 this season with a 2.73 ERA. In his last start, he worked 7.1 innings against San Francisco, allowing only 2 earned runs. In Stroman’s last start against the Twins on May 15 he tossed 6.0 innings of scoreless baseball. Minnesota is countering with Pablo Lopez, who is 5-5 with a 4.84 ERA. Now he faces a daunting task in the form of New York’s lineup. Aaron Judge specifically is on a roll. In his last 27 games, he is hitting .398 with a 1.510 OPS, 14 home runs and 34 RBIs. The last time Judge faced Lopez, he went 4-for-4 with 3 doubles and a homer. Give me the Yankees to win big.

Chicago Cubs ML over Cincinnati Reds (+108)

With Javier Assad toeing the rubber for the Cubs they have good value as underdogs. Assad is 4-1 with a 2.27 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 63.1 innings. His most recent outing also came against the Reds and it was solid: 5.1 innings of work with 2 runs allowed on 5 hits in addition to 7 strikeouts. Hunter Greene is no slouch for Cincinnati, but he faced this same Chicago squad in his last appearance and surrendered 5 runs while walking 5 in 6.0 innings. The Cubs have been entirely mediocre in 2024 (31-31 record), but they are 3-1 in their last 4 and have momentum on the heels of a quick 2-game sweep at the expense of the in-city rival White Sox. Look for them to keep it rolling.

San Diego Padres -1.5 over Arizona Diamondbacks (+164)

The Padres have lost 4 in a row, which is part of the reason why you can get a multi-run victory at such a favorable payout. However, they aren’t playing terrible baseball. Their 4 recent losses have come by a grand total of 5 runs. It’s also worth noting that the last time San Diego won was when Randy Vasquez was on the mound. He will be back on the bump tonight, looking to build on 2 straight quality or close-to-quality starts (3 runs in 6.0 innings followed by 3 runs in 5.0 innings). Slade Cecconi is pitching for a struggling Arizona side that is 29-33 this year. Cecconi has been part of the problem, compiling a 1-4 record and a 5.59 ERA. Don’t be surprised if the Padres get back on track.
