The week in Major League Baseball continues with a small 8-game slate on Thursday. About half of the teams in the league are enjoying an off day in between series, while businessman’s specials are in the cards for plenty of others before flights need to be caught. There are 4 afternoon contests and then 4 at night. The schedule includes Cubs vs Brewers and Astros vs Mariners.

Below is my mega parlay for Thursday; also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks.

Cubs ML (+102)

Diamondbacks -1.5 (+150)

Tigers ML (+102)

MLB parlay odds: +920

For this parlay I am going with 1 favorite on the run line and 2 underdogs on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Chicago Cubs ML over Milwaukee Brewers (+102)

It will a battle atop the National League Central when Cubs and Brewers wrap up a 4-game series. Milwaukee has a healthy 4.5-game, but it’s not like Chicago (tied for second with St. Louis) is out of it by any means. Although the Cubs have dropped 6 of their last 7 outings, they should have a good chance of getting back on track this afternoon with James Taillon toeing the rubber. Taillon is 3-2 with a 2.58 ERA and Chicago has won 4 of his 7 starts. The Brewers have lost 2 of Colin Rea’s last 3 appearances and his May ERA stands at 4.73. Give me the Cubs at plus money.

Arizona Diamondbacks -1.5 over New York Mets (+150)

The Mets are in absolute shambles these days. They are 22-33 overall, have lost 8 of their last 9 games and own a 7-18 record in May. Jorge Lopez got ejected after launching his glove into the stands late in Wednesday’s loss to the Dodgers and afterward called his own club the worst in the league. As a result of his efforts, Lopez was promptly designated for assignment. It’s safe to say that New York is a mess on and off the field. Adding insult to injury, this team has to face Zac Gallen of the Diamondbacks on Thursday. Gallen is 4-for-4 when it comes to quality starts this month, with a 25-to-6 strikeout-to-walk ratio and a 2.81 ERA. Count on Arizona piling on New York’s woes.

Detroit Tigers ML over Boston Red Sox (+102)

Jack Flaherty over the Tigers has been a quality-start machine in 2024, especially over the past month. The right-hander has delivered 5 consecutive quality starts dating back to April 30 – a stretch that includes 6.2 innings of scoreless baseball against his former team, the Cardinals. Boston is countering with Nick Pivetta, who is saddled with a 6.16 ERA in May after giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits and 3 walks in just 3.1 innings against Milwaukee last weekend. The Red Sox have lost 4 of their last 6 games, while the Tigers have won 4 of their last 5. Detroit has great value as a small underdog on Thursday.
