The 2022 MLB season rolls on and we have another full slate on Thursday. There are a number of interesting matchups, including this NL clash between the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies starting at 3:10 pm ET.

What better way to celebrate this Thursday showdown than by betting a same game parlay? We also have thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview.

Rockies -1.5 (+128)

Cesar Hernandez to record 2 hits (+155)

Parlay odds: +651

We’ve come up with a 2-leg parlay, which would pay out at +651 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s break down each leg:

Colorado Rockies -1.5 (+128)

To start this same game parlay, we have the Colorado Rockies on the run line. The Rockies are an intriguing bunch. Colorado was expected to be one of the worst teams in the NL this season, but the Rockies have surprised so far. Like most Rockies teams in recent years, they have been mediocre on the road but hold a 10-5 record at Coors Field. That has been enough to give them a 15-10 record and take them to 3rd place in the loaded NL West.

It has been a season to forget for the Washington Nationals to this point. The Nats are 9-17, giving them the second-worst record in baseball through the first month of the campaign. Their pitching staff ERA is third-worst in the majors and their lineup isn’t much better. Despite boasting Juan Soto and Josh Bell, the Nationals have one of the worst run differentials in the MLB. Fading Washington has been profitable for bettors this season and that should continue.

This matchup favors the Rockies due to pitching experience and location. Antonio Senzatela gets the start for Colorado and while his advanced stats are concerning, this is not a lineup that will exploit his weaknesses. Plus, the veteran right-hander is a much better pitcher at Coors Field than on the road, a rare contrast for a Rockies starter. The hosts should be able to attack Nationals starter Aaron Sanchez. In 14 home games, Colorado is hitting over .280 with over 80 runs scored as a team. Sanchez is making only his third start of the season, and things could get away from him against a lineup that is firing on all cylinders.

This is a situation in which the Rockies are still slightly undervalued in the market. While Senzatela’s peripherals are nothing to write home about, the righty should see success against this scuffling Nationals lineup. As long as the Rockies hold serve through the middle innings, I like their chances to tack on a few runs late. And if Senzatela is on his game at home, this one could get ugly.

Cesar Hernandez to record 2+ hits (+155)

As a general rule, including legs from both teams always increases your odds in a same game parlay. But I don’t think Cesar Hernandez having success conflicts with the Rockies picking up a win at home. Hernandez has been one of the few bright spots in the Nationals lineup this season, hitting .282 with 31 hits and 15 runs scored to this point. The 31-year old is getting a chance to hit near the top of the order, and he is undoubtedly making the most of his opportunity.

With hits in his last 10 games, Hernandez has been the model of consistency. In fact, the second baseman has multiple hits in 5 of his last 10 starts. Hitting at the top of the order should give him at least 4 plate appearances, giving us multiple chances to cash this leg. At this price, Hernandez is worth adding to this parlay to increase the value. Let’s hope his hot streak continues on Thursday.
