The week in Major League Baseball continues with a full 15-game slate on Wednesday. It includes 4 afternoon specials – which is not unusual for this time of the week – and among them is a showdown between Tampa Bay and San Francisco. Meanwhile, the Yankees and Braves are wrapping up a 3-game series, with New York looking to bounce back after being blanked by Atlanta on Tuesday. Below is my MLB mega parlay for Wednesday, and also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks.

Astros -1.5 (+140)

Blue Jays -1.5 (+130)

Dodgers -1.5 (-105)

MLB parlay odds: +978

For this MLB parlay, we are going with 3 favorites on the run line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Houston Astros -1.5 over Miami Marlins (+140)

I’m not sure why you can get the Astros this far into plus money on the -1.5 run line, but I’m certainly not complaining since I feel great about their chances for a multi-run victory. After all, Justin Verlander is toeing the rubber on Wednesday. Verlander heated up down the stretch of his brief tenure with the Mets by recording a 1.69 ERA in July and he hasn’t looked back since returning to Houston. The veteran right-hander has delivered 2 consecutive quality starts with his “new” team, compiling an 11-to-2 strikeout-to-walk ratio in the process. Verlander’s teams are 6-2 in his last 8 appearances with all 6 victories coming by at least 2 runs. For Miami, Jesus Luzardo most recently pitched last Friday and surrendered 7 runs on 9 hits in 3.1 innings of work during a 9-3 loss to the Yankees. Give me the Astros to win big.

Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 over Philadelphia Phillies (+130)

The Phillies were somewhat in striking distance of the Braves in the National League East (it still would have required a miracle), but now it’s all but over with a deficit of 12.5 games following a 3-game losing streak that has coincided with Atlanta getting back on track to the tune of 5 wins in its last 6. That’s not to say that the Phillies are suddenly going to mail it in for the season (they can still get a wild-card spot), but the bottom line is this team is reeling at the moment. Having to face Toronto’s Kevin Gausman on Wednesday will likely add insult to injury. Gausman posted a 2.97 ERA in June, finished July with 6.0 innings of 1-run baseball against the Angels and has a 2.38 ERA through 2 August outings (including 7.0 innings of shutout ball last Wednesday at Cleveland). With Philadelphia’s Aaron Nola underwhelming in 2023 (4.49 ERA), the Jays will likely finish off a quick 2-game sweep.

LA Dodgers -1.5 over Milwaukee Brewers (-105)

The Dodgers are on absolute fire right now and there is no reason to think they will slow down with Clayton Kershaw taking the mound tonight. Los Angeles has won 9 in a row and 13 of its last 14. Kershaw has contributed to 1 of those victories after missing all of July, pitching 5.0 innings of 1-run baseball against Colorado last Thursday. As for the Brewers, they have lost Wade Miley’s last 2 starts and 3 of his last 4. There is really no need to overthink this one; the Dodgers have won 4 straight contests by at least 3 runs and 5 of their last 6 by multiple runs.
