CONCACAF Gold Cup pick today: Canada Over 2.5 Team Goals vs Guadeloupe (-108), 7:00 pm ET

Co-hosts Canada start the CONCACAF Gold Cup on home soil at BMO Field in Toronto and have landed in arguably the easiest group in the tournament. Despite losing 2-0 to the USMNT in the Nations League A Final, Canada has won 3 of its last 4 games by at least 2 goals. The home team should be able to put on a good display to regain any confidence lost by last week’s disappointing defeat, therefore backing them to score at least 3 goals will be our play.

MLB pick today: Cincinnati Reds vs Baltimore Orioles – Over 10 Runs (-110), 7:05 pm ET

An exciting series is set to begin tonight between the Cincinnati Reds and the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore draws a matchup against the Reds’ Brandon Williamson. The left-hander struggled in 34 Triple-A innings this season, allowing a 6.62 ERA and 6.58 FIP while generating a 7.15 K/9 and walking 5.29 batters per 9 innings. He was still called up, and the struggles have continued at the major league level. Through 7 starts, Williamson has allowed 3 or more earned runs 5 times while posting a 5.40 ERA. He ranks 8th percentile or worse in barrel rate, hard-hit rate, xSLG, xBA, and has a miniscule 8.8% K-BB%.

Cole Irvin will start for the Orioles, and he isn’t a pitcher to trust either. He has been largely ineffective, posting an ERA of 7.71 and his workload has been uncertain. He has especially been poor against right-handed hitters, allowing them to hit .321 this season. The Reds will likely stack their lineup in this way and should have plenty of success against him tonight. With both starting pitchers struggling this year and both offenses having shown they can generate a ton of runs, backing the over will be our play.

MLB pick today: Detroit Tigers vs Texas Rangers – Under 9 Runs (-114), 8:30 pm ET

The Detroit Tigers head into Arlington to begin their series against the Rangers tonight. Coming to the mound for the Tigers will be Matthew Boyd, who currently has a 5.37 ERA & 1.32 WHIP. This will be Boyd’s second appearance against the Rangers bats this year, as he lost 5-0 in his last game against them.

Pitching for the Rangers will be Andrew Heaney. So far this season, Heaney has a 3.98 ERA & 1.29 WHIP. He sits in good company regarding his percentiles for xBA (53rd), K% (58th) and hard-hit percent (54th) but occasionally struggles with walks (27th percentile) and xSLG (35th percentile). Luckily for Heaney, the Tigers as a team rank 29th in SLG, 27th in AVG, 19th in BB & 14th in K’s. Look for Boyd to do enough to slow down the Rangers’ offense, while Heaney should limit a poor Tigers’ lineup. For that reason, backing the under will be our play.

MLB pick today: Chicago White Sox vs Los Angeles Angels – Over 8.5 Runs (+100), 9:38 pm ET

The White Sox will kick off a 4-game series against the Angels in Southern California tonight, and Chicago hopes the series goes better than the last time these teams squared off. The Halos won 2 of 3 games on the South Side of Chicago May 29-31, outscoring the White Sox 21-16 as the over cashed all 3 times. The over is now 4-1 in the past 5 meetings in this series, and 9-4 in the past 13 encounters in SoCal.

For the Angels, they haven’t had a case of the Mondays, at least in terms of offensive production. The over is 12-3-1 in the past 16 Monday games, as the Halos have been kicking off the work week in style lately. Given their recent outburst in offensive production (25 runs scored on Saturday), backing the over will be our play.
