The Milwaukee Bucks are showing no signs of slowing down, so it will be up to the Boston Celtics to get back to winning ways if they want to reclaim the #1 seed in the East. Standing in their way are the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have beaten them twice already this season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET on ESPN, and I’ve prepared a Same Game Parlay to spice things up a little.

Boston Celtics 1-10 win margin (+170)

We have witnessed a couple of really close games between these teams already this season and I have a feeling tonight’s will be similar. Both games went into overtime and finished with Cavs victories by 9 points and 1 point. Now it’s time for the Celtics to get revenge for those defeats. They are no longer the #1 seed in the East after Milwaukee’s 15th win in a row last night. Boston has the edge in head-to-head meetings at TD Garden, winning 6 of the last 7, and they are on a run of 13 wins and just 2 losses at home in their last 15. Jaylen Brown is expected to return to the lineup after missing the game against New York, and the Celtics are 35-15 SU when he plays. I haven’t been impressed with the Cavs since the All-Star break. They were beaten by Denver at home and lost by 17 on the road against a fairly average Atlanta team. Expect a close game, but the Celtics should pull out the win in front of their own fans.

Jaylen Brown over 24.5 points (-125)

Jaylen Brown’s importance to this Celtics team was felt in his absence from the 15-point road loss at Madison Square Garden on Monday. The Celtics are 9-3 SU in 12 games he has missed, but that stat is a bit misleading as they faced quite a few weak opponents in those games. His return should spark the team, especially with Jayson Tatum struggling with scoring lately. Brown is more than capable of stepping up and filling the role of the leading scorer. He’s on a streak of 3 straight 30+ point games against the Cavaliers and he has failed to clear that number only once in the last 6 against them. If we look at his last 10 games overall, he has scored 25 or more points a total of 8 times, so I’m not worried at all about his output in this game. The Cavs have one of the best defenses in the league, but they’ve struggled defending the 3-ball lately and that’s one of Brown’s strong points. He has connected on 40.5% of threes per game in February, while averaging 3 made per game. Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland will have their hands full trying to stop him.

Al Horford 2+ made threes (-220)

Al Horford is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle for the Celtics this season. His veteran leadership and presence brings stability in times when the team isn’t performing well. A couple of games ago against the 76ers he scored 5 threes in the 3rd quarter to keep the Celtics alive and initiate the comeback which led to a win. I’m expecting Big Al to contribute in this game as well. He’s been knocking down threes for fun lately, averaging 43.6% of makes over his last 7 appearances. He averaged 2.5 made threes per game in February, up from 1.8 in January. He’s failed to clear this line only once in his last 5 games and returning from a long road trip will be a confidence-booster too. Cleveland has struggled mightily defending the perimeter over the last 3 games, allowing 46.1% of threes to be made. That’s no surprise considering the Cavs are only 24th in the NBA in opponent 3-point percentage, so let’s hope Horford can take advantage and knock down a couple of shots.
