It’s a clash between the last two Western Conference champions tonight at Footprint Arena as the Golden State Warriors come to town to take on the Phoenix Suns. Watch the game live on TNT from 10pm ET, right after the New Orleans vs Dallas Mavericks clash. Tuesday brings us 4 games in the NBA, and as usual, we have you covered with picks on the side and total for all of them so be sure to check out our NBA picks. But for now, let’s dive into our Warrior vs Suns Same Game Parlay.

Phoenix Suns 1-10 win margin (+180)

Under 225 points (-110)

Chris Paul over 9.5 assists (+102)

Parlay odds: +1074

Phoenix Suns 1-10 win margin (+180)

With their dominant performance in Los Angeles over the weekend, the Suns showed they mean business this year. They jumped out to a 15-point lead after the first 12 minutes of play and there was no coming back for the Clippers. I feel like they will want to send a statement with a win over the defending champions tonight and what better place to do that than on their home floor? They split the 2 meetings with Golden State last season and 3 of those 4 games were decided by less than 10 points, so we could be in for another close outcome tonight.

After seeing the defensive struggles of the Warriors I’m giving a slight edge to the home team here. They are 5-1 SU in their last 6 home games and in their last 15 games played on a Tuesday they have an impressive 14 wins. All the numbers are pointing to a Suns win here and I believe they have enough to take down the champs.

Under 225 points (-110)

The Warriors’ defense hasn’t played up to their reputation over the first 3 games, allowing 120.7 points per game, which is a significant increase from last year’s 105.8 per game. Their defensive rating is also up from 106.6 to 110.4 and opponents are shooting 47.5% from the field against them. I’m sure those types of numbers won’t hold up as coach Steve Kerr will definitely make an emphasis on defense in his pre-game speech tonight.

The Suns’ defense has been solid and in 3 games they are allowing 104.3 points per game, which is 5th-best in the NBA. That’s mainly because of their style of play, as they rank only 27th in pace this season, averaging just 96.8 possessions per game. That will surely have an impact on tonight’s game. A lower tempo should translate into fewer possessions for each team and, in theory, fewer points scored. The last time these teams played in the regular season we saw only 210 points scored and tonight’s projected total of 225 hasn’t been reached in either of the 4 meetings last year. Expect a lower-scoring output from both sides.

Chris Paul over 9.5 assists (+102)

Chris Paul hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down even at the age of 37, at least when it comes to the assists department. He became only the 3rd player in NBA history to notch 11,000 assists in the win over his former team on Sunday, finishing the game with 11 dimes. So far on the season, he is averaging 10.7 per game through 3 games played and only against the Mavs in the season opener did he fail to reach double digits when he finished with 9. I am liking his chances tonight as he matches up with Steph Curry, who isn’t really an elite defender.

In 54 career games against Golden State, Paul is averaging 8.9 assists per game and in his 5 most recent games against them, he has reached 10 assists twice. Scoring hasn’t been a priority for CP3 in the 3 games played so far, but as long as he keeps his teammates involved the Suns will be competitive no matter who they play against. Back CP3 to have a big assists night here.
