Only 10 NBA teams are in action tonight, but we have an NBA TV doubleheader coming our way. It all starts at 7:30 pm ET as the Memphis Grizzlies head to Minnesota for a date with the Timberwolves. I’ve prepared another Same Game Parlay, which is available below.

We will have picks on the side and total for all 5 of Friday’s games in our NBA predictions, so don’t forget to check those out. Let’s dive into my SGP bet now!

Ja Morant to record 12+ assists (+350)

Ja Morant has been distributing the ball at a high level lately, getting into double figures twice in his last 6 games and recording at least 8 dimes 5 times during that stretch. Unfortunately for him, it hasn’t resulted in any wins over the last 4 Grizzlies games. Against a defensively challenged Timberwolves team, his assists streak should continue. Minnesota is allowing 26.1 opponent assists per game at Target Center this season, which is the 2nd-highest mark out of all 30 NBA teams, with only the Portland Trail Blazers ranking worse than them.

With Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks and Jaren Jackson Jr. all finally healthy and playing, Ja has enough options to pass the ball to, as we saw in the game against the Warriors on Wednesday when he dropped 12 assists. I think it’s time for the Grizzlies to finally win a game and for Morant to collect his assist numbers.

Anthony Edwards to score 30+ points (+120)

Speaking of numbers, there hasn’t been a lack of those in recent Anthony Edwards games. The 21-year old is averaging close to 28 points per game over his last 10 outings and has been carrying the Minnesota offense since Karl-Anthony Towns went down with his calf injury. In his last 30 games, he has dropped 37, 31 and 44 points and he had 28 and 29 points in 2 games against the Grizzlies earlier this season. The absence of Steven Adams on the inside should benefit him greatly as it opens up the paint.

His 3-point shooting will also be a weapon. He has averaged 39.5% of makes over his last 10 games, while against the Grizzlies that number is at 51.8% in 9 career games. With the Memphis defense allowing over 120 points 3 times in the last 4 games, I can see Edwards lighting it up.
