We are wrapping up the first week of the post-ASG NBA calendar with an intriguing 8-game slate on Sunday. It is headlined by a pair of double-headers – one on ABC and another on ESPN. This showdown between the Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors gets the ESPN festivities underway at 7:30 pm ET. Here is a look at the best same game parlay option for Mavericks vs Warriors, and also be sure to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total.

Golden State Warriors ML (-162)

Stephen Curry to record 8+ assists (+128)

Luka Doncic to score 35+ points (+240)

Parlay odds: +1146

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Stephen Curry dishing out a fair share of assists would obviously go well with a Golden State win. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing Luka Doncic to pour in a bunch of points. But even if Doncic does, there is no reason why the Warriors can’t get the job done. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

Golden State Warriors ML (-162)

The Mavericks began the second half of their season with a tough 114-109 loss to Utah, a game that they probably should have won as they held the lead throughout before a late collapse. It could be a bit difficult to recover from that near-miss. Meanwhile, the Warriors were able to cruise past Portland in their first game back – proving that they should be able to stay afloat even with Draymond Green sidelined. Golden State has continued to play stout defense in Green’s absence. Head coach Steve Kerr’s crew boasts the league’s best defensive rating and allows just 103.6 points per game. The Warriors are an impressive 26-6 at home this season, so they should be the pick despite the fact that I would rather not give 3.5 points.

Luka Doncic to score 35+ points (+240)

Doncic has been one of the league’s best players over recent weeks, averaging more than 30 points per game in the month of February. Asking him to reach the 35 mark against an opponent that is missing its best defender should not be too much.

Stephen Curry to record 8+ assists (+128)

Curry could be in pass-first mode in this one – at least by his standards. Outside of the All-Star Game, he has not been able to throw it in the ocean of late. When teams are actually playing defense (such as in real games and the fourth quarter of the ASG), it has been pretty much nothing but bricks for Curry from downtown. Plus with Green out, the former Davidson star has to do more distributing anyway. He finished with 14 assists against Portland on Thursday. Through 2 games against Dallas this season, Curry is averaging 16.0 ppg – his lowest number against any opponent that he has faced multiple times. The Mavericks know how to put the clamps down on him and make him give up the basketball.
