NBA Wednesday parlay at mega (+1258) odds, today 12/21: Hawks take flight

Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (11) looks on against the Orlando Magic in the second half at State Farm Arena.

It’s a packed slate in the association on Wednesday, and that calls for an NBA mega parlay. But this NBA mega parlay is not like the others, as we have 4 legs to this parlay instead of the usual 3! I’ve found 4 edges that I believe make up a perfect mega parlay, so without further ado, let’s get right into it.

Don’t miss all of our NBA predictions for tonight’s matchups

Hawks -7 (-105)

Knicks -1 (-110)

Magic -2 (-110)

Kings -7 (-110)

Parlay odds: +1258

Atlanta Hawks -7 over Chicago Bulls (-105)

Things are going south in Chicago. A report came out on Tuesday that Zach LaVine is not getting along with the rest of the Bulls team, and several teammates called him out after the last game. With the locker room on edge and the Bulls on the second leg of a back-to-back against a healthy Hawks team, this game is looking like a big win for Atlanta.

Dejounte Murray returned to the Hawks lineup against the Magic and made an immediate impact as he combined with Trae Young for 54 points in the win. The Bulls have been drastically underperforming this season and rank 26th in net rating in the last 10 games. The biggest problem has been their lack of depth in their bench and their defense, and the Timberwolves took advantage of both as they scored an absurd 150 points against Chicago on Sunday. They entered Tuesday night’s game against Miami with a 4-11 record on the road, so I’ll grab the Hawks at home with the points.

New York Knicks -1 over Toronto Raptors (-110)

The Knicks are in the midst of an 8-game winning streak and are the NBA’s best team in December. The same cannot be said for the Raptors, who have lost 6 in a row and look lost on defense. That should be the part of the game that New York dominates as they rank 1st in defensive rating in the last 8 games. Mitchell Robinson has been an excellent rim protector while RJ Barrett has stepped up his perimeter defense this season. That combined with Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle leading the team on offense has solidified themselves as one of the stronger teams in the Eastern Conference. They face a Raptors team that ranks 29th in 3-point shooting percentage this season, so as long as New York defends the paint, they should win their 2nd game in 2 days.

Orlando Magic -2 over Houston Rockets (-110)

Magical things are happening in Orlando. The Magic had their 6-game win streak snapped by the Hawks on Monday, but considering it was by 1 point and their 3rd game in 4 days, it’s still impressive. The highlight of their 6-game win streak was beating the number 1 offense in the league, the Celtics, in back-to-back games. This young Magic team has been impressive lately, and they have an excellent chance to start a new winning streak against the Rockets.

While both teams may be young and have similar records, there is nothing similar about how these teams have been playing recently. Houston just lost by 19 to the tanking San Antonio Spurs while being 5-point favorites, so I have no faith in them keeping this game close. Expect the magic to continue for Orlando.

Sacramento Kings -7 (-110) over Los Angeles Lakers

This game features two of my favorite things: backing the Kings at home and fading the Lakers without Anthony Davis. Sacramento’s offense seems to perform at a different level when they’re at Golden 1 Center as they rank 1st in points per game at home. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis have been an excellent duo as they consistently put up 40-50 points a night. Fortunately for Sabonis, he will no longer have to guard AD. That should allow Sabonis to thrive in the paint, as losing Davis directly correlates to the Lakers’ lack of defense.

In the 5 games without Davis, the Lakers are 2-3 and allowing 124.4 points per game. There is also a question of LeBron James’ status, who like every game this season, is listed as questionable along with Russell Westbrook. Los Angeles just got blown out by the Suns on Monday, and I see envision a very similar result on Wednesday.
