With Week 1 now in the rearview mirror, the NFL season is officially in full swing. There’s a lot of excitement in the air for Week 2 and beyond, and what better way to celebrate than by betting a Same Game Parlay?

The Jets will be looking to pull off a big upset of the Cowboys in their first game since Aaron Rodgers’ injury, and I have cooked up an SGP for the occasion:

Here we go:

New York Jets ML (+340)

Zach Wilson to throw for 2+ touchdowns (+340)

Zach Wilson over 12.5 rushing yards (-113)

Parlay odds: +1922

We have a 3-leg Same Game Parlay, which pays out at north of 19/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s break it down.

New York Jets ML (+340)

The Jets aren’t expected to win this game, but they weren’t expected to beat the Bills last week after Rodgers went down with an Achilles injury either. Everyone thought the game was just about over at that point, but the team rallied around Zach Wilson and New York completed an epic comeback in overtime. This squad made it clear they aren’t just going to roll over without Rodgers, and they’ve got a defense that’s good enough to keep them in any game.

New York had Josh Allen flustered all night and they pressured him into committing four turnovers. If Robert Saleh’s unit plays like that, they can win each and every week no matter how the offense is playing. And with Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson, they’ve got enough talent around Wilson on offense to at least give him a fighting chance.

Now is also the time to sell high on the Cowboys following their 40-0 domination of the Giants in Week 1. This sure feels like a let-down spot for Dallas, and that lopsided final score had more to do with the Giants’ incompetence than anything Dallas did particularly well. Dak Prescott had 143 yards, it’s not like they were putting on a clinic by any means.

Zach Wilson to throw for 2+ touchdowns (+340)

If Zach Wilson plays well and throws multiple touchdowns I think the Jets are very likely winning this game, so these two legs correlate nicely. Wilson averaged a respectable 6.7 yards per attempt against a tough Buffalo defense last week, and that was after unexpectedly getting thrown into the fire in primetime. Now he’s had a full week of practice to prepare with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, so he should be a lot more comfortable.

Wilson was clearly a bit dazed by the bright lights of Monday Night Football at first, but he made some nice plays down the stretch. I don’t think Dallas’ secondary is actually all that great, their pass-rush just feasted on the Giants’ abysmal offensive line last week. Wilson had at least 2 passing touchdowns in 2 of his last 5 games last year, so at +340 I don’t even hate the standalone value here.

Zach Wilson over 12.5 rushing yards (-113)

I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but all we need for this parlay to cash is one good game from Wilson and we’re getting nearly 20/1 odds on it. As we just discussed the Cowboys have a dominant pass-rush, so I would expect to see Wilson flushed from the pocket and trying to make plays with his legs. His athleticism is his main strength, and I think Hackett and the Jets’ coaching staff will lean into it. In 3 of his last 6 starts last year he had at least 24 rushing yards, so I don’t believe hitting 13 will be too hard for him.
